Can anyone tell me if there is a filter for my A/C? I drive a 1994 F350 Dually Crewcab IDI turbo.

It is so smokey here I just cannot believe it, and it's all toxic house fire smoke, structures, cars, businesses, noxious weeds, plastic, etc, etc....

If there is a way to filter the air coming in my cab I would sure appreciate tips! I can't avoid it because I need to stay and keep my house wet!

Not stock, like the newer vehicles. I reckon you could make something.
It pulls in from the cowl area. I guess you could redirect it to a easier accessible area and add a filter.

Also make sure your fresh air vent from outside is shut that may help some as well. You could buy a filter for a house system and cut it down to fit the intake of the system inside the cab. Foam filters will not help the fine particles in the smoke you will want a medium quality filter for it. After the smoke you could choose to run a foam type as the thicker filter will cause restriction and if used too long would over work your fan motor but would be okay to use during your fire season

Wear a cartridge filter and keep the A/C on recirculate

That’s the best you can do.

As a firefighter myself, I can tell you that smoke is bad shyt.

My home caught fire earlier in the week... 3m respirator (best off the shelf one at your local hardware) keeps the plastic stank out perfectly. I have to crank it down to seal because of my beard, but great otherwise.

From a wildfire? Or from something else? Everyone ok? Hopefully not much damage!

As mentioned , personal respirator. You can get a good one for like $30. I use them to mow and weed eat because I have bad allergies. They work really well.

Electrical fire, we lost a dog but everyone else is ok. House is stable but trashed, fire took out livingroom and patio awning. Smoke and heat damaged most of the house, i always shut the bedroom, bathroom, and office doors, but the firemen opened them to vent so they got some smell. But no heat damage past the doors, no soot. Close your doors!

Make sure you have working fire/CO detectors in your bedrooms too... and plastic sucks.

The livingroom is the only way through the house other than windows. Could of been worse, but it sucks...

I feel for you. We had a minor fire when I was a kid. Our smoke was all wood smoke, luckily. The house was built in 1890-something and the fire place hearth was installed incorrectly. In 1979, we had a good hot fire going, it was in the low teens and windy, so the heat was nice, and a good draw on the chimney. The heat/flames were pulled through a crack at the hearth to firebox joints and started several floor joints smoldering. The smoke smell woke mom up, and we got dressed and went outside and waited on the fire department.

House was repaired, and mom and dad still living there to this day.

I understand the plastic smell, being a firefighter, that’s a smell that sticks with you. Same as a car fire.....

Thanks for the tip... Fire dept started passing cartridge filters out by the thousands, and 3m masks by the tens of thousands...
They seem to be helping. I tried a couple suggestions on trying to fit a filter to my truck... didn't work... Thank God for the fire dept...
Wow, you guys have a tough job.... I spent a full career soldiering and I have never worked in such a terrible environment. Super bad ass manly stuff you do...
