Something gave my eX needs help

About to start driver side head pull. Investigating of a new noise and power loss I found a bent pushrod and a broken pushrod and two broken rocker arms in the very back intake and exhaust. my question do unplug everything and pull motor or is driver head not that bad with the cherry picker . Oh and main reason for pulling head because I cannot locate a lifter with use of magnetic devices and can't get my eyeballs anywhere close to looking in there, very back is MIA. Has anyone had this happen to them? I think lifter is in valley just can't get down the head and past the gasket. Note vehicle in question is 2000 Excursion4x4 7.3 with 385xxx+.

I think I would yard the engine out and do a complete inspection. I know 7.3 PSDs are known for longevity, but I think I'd want to take a look around inside and make sure the parts didn't bounce around and damage anything else when they were bouncing around. Nothing worse than throwing some parts at something and not knowing there's something else somewhere deeper that's waiting to grenade later on.
