Steering wheel noise

The passed couple times I have taken a drive I'm starting to hear a noise coming from just behind the steering wheel sounds like a spring with tension on it creeking. Some times makes turning hard like I hit little spots of resistance as the wheel clicks away. Any one have this before.

Yeah, steering column needs rebuilt/replaced.
Steering column services has the parts and diagrams.

How big of job am I looking at.

Yeah, on the website I mentioned. Or you can get the individual bearings from ford.
