I just changed the clutched swing arm bushing to the updated version and in the process of doing this I noticed a switch at the brake pedal with a vacuum line attached to it I followed the line back to the cruise vacuum control box question I have is how should this be adjusted I haven't been able to find anything on this switch. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

It slides into a slot on the clutch pedal, down from the top. If nobody can help, I can take a picture at 230 when I get back to my truck

This is an emergency dump valve that releases the vacuum in your cruise control system when you press the brake. When the brake pedal is released the plunger should be pushed in (there is a piece of white plastic on the pedal arm that presses on the plunger), when you press the pedal the plunger will release opening the system to the atmosphere.

This switch is easy to adjust by hand just by wiggling it. When the brake is released the black body of my switch is about 1/4" away from the white plastic piece on the brake pedal.

Ok thank/You when I found this switch the button wasn't even touching the brake pedal when it and I was certain that was not correct but I didn't know what to adjust it to nor was I able to find anything so I thought

I went through my whole cruise system before I found this valve. Mine was the same as yours. I must have hit it while I was changing the booster. I don't think the adjustment is critical as long as it is closed when the pedal is not pressed and open when the pedal is pressed. The brake light switch should cause the cruise control electronics to shut off the cruise. This is just an emergency valve.

Check it out, I know in my truck the cruise control worked, I adjusted the vacuume switch away from the pedal too far and it wouldn’t work. I had to push it back in and it worked again. So there is a happy medium where that switch it out of adjustment won’t allow it to come on
