Did about seven hours on the highway and it's running well and with out event. Going to Corey's on Saturday for a baby moose, injectors, 4" exhaust system and most importantly, time and tune. Right now, it's maxing out at7-8# of boost at 1000 degrees but not at WOT. If I kept my foot in it, I'm pretty sure that I'd cook a piston or two. I'm stoked to get it dialed in!

I'm real curious to know what that turbo system does with the baby moose on it. I've been wanting a new IP, but money seems to find other priorities. Still glad you got it running and are having some luck.

Thanks,
If the initial use is any indication, I'd say that the difference will be profound. However, my old truck is not a R&D test bed and I've got no interest in finding out its limits of durability. I would like to incorporate a intercooler into the system perhaps over the winter, funds and time allowing...

Intercooler is also my limiting factor. I want a bigger IP, but don't want to drive by the pyro which means I would need an intercooler and possible turbo upgrade to take full advantage of a bigger pump. So I don't touch it yet, because I can't help myself.

That is where I'm thinking, almost exactly. My end goal is to have something that puts out power in the 6.0 PSD territory, but with a lower curve for pulling. And a manual, preferably a ZF6.

Lol
Are you talking stock 6.0 PSD power levels?
You could bulletproof a 6.0 cheaper than building a IDI to have stock 6.0 power.
And.... it's going to be more reliable, start easier, better drivability, stronger bottom end, etc, etc.

I honestly did look at buying a newer super duty and set it up the way I want it. But after buying the pickup and tossing a few upgrades at it I quickly get into the $30k range or more. Right now I have $20k budgeted to rebuild mine, having spent about $8k of that. I understand the point @79jasper but right now I haven't been able to find a newer, cheaper alternative. Plus like @IDIoit said "hotrodding isn't ALL about power.
its more about doing what someone hasn't done before. building a vehicle that YOU want. with the parts you have, exactly the way you want it."
