Haven't talked much with Russ, in fact I just this evening found out that he set me up with the 60-1 wheel.
Is there a vin code for the axle ratio?
My is a '90 2wd e4od na with the camper package.
I'm running the same turbo set up as you, factory styls rebuilt by Russ and 60-1 wheel with banks dp and 4 inch exhaust. I'm running a 90cc pump and stage 1's froM r and d. If you get a intercooler you shouldn't have to worry about egts especially if you got with a 80cc pump or Mel's equall pump. A little more than stock fuel is good my egts were staying in check without intercooler but guage recently died on me shortly after current turbo installed. I know with my past 088 ats I never had any problems with egts with my current fuel set up towing some and daily driving/ playing. Climbing the pass to
Eastern Oregon few times never any issues

Here is my take on it, with a different prospective......

1. This is your daily driver, and more importantly your house...... This means your truck has to be 110% reliable, 110% of the time. THAT is "power level goal" you have........

2. This is my personal experience with towing a camper. Now my example will differ from what you are asking, but the end lesson was still the same for me. I towed at 21 Foot Coachmen Travel Trailer, for about 4 seasons, on the road the trailer was almost 5,000 lbs, anti-sway control and the proper weight distribution hitch. The first two seasons, I towed with a 2000 Dodge Durango 4x4 5.9 V8 4 speed auto. I was well within the limits of my Durango, but anytime I was towing, I was always chasing something. Had to be in 3rd gear, it didn't like OD, period. Had to watch out for everything around me, a car passing would effect the handling, come out from under an overpass and the wind was blowing just right, it would push me all over. See a big truck starting to pass, hug the center line, so by the time he was almost around me, I wasn't on the shoulder, keep in mind top speed, pushing 65 could get harry.... watch the gas gauge, because towing it was thirsty (worst mileage was less that 200 miles on a tank in a headwind).... then the middle of the second season, I got to rebuild the transmission...... At the end of the second season, the Excursion in my signature came up for sale. I only did one short tow that year with the Excursion.... Start of the next season, we started out out camping season, same camper, same weight distribution hitch and anti-sway control. (which I really didn't need now, but used it anyway) This was about a 100 mile, one way trip that I had taken multiple times towing with the Durango. It is a mix of county, state roads and 2 lane interstate (70 MPH speed limit). On the little roads, I didn't see a huge difference, but once I go out on the big road, it was a HUGE difference!!!!! I hit the throttle, was able to gain speed and merge without white knuckles.... wow, that's different/nice..... But, once I was on the interstate, that is where the real difference shined. I accelerated up to the 70mph speed limit and set the cruise!!!! I was able to sit back, turn up the A/C, and enjoy the drive and the XM radio, because now, the drive was not much different than not towing. I didn't have to watch the gauges, I didn't have an eye on the mirror to analyze the effect this vehicle passing me was going to have (plus there were a whole lot less passing since I was at the speed limit, not an obstruction in the right lane) and didn't have to worry about where the next gas station was, since I now had a bigger tank, and got better fuel economy towing with the Excursion that I did empty in the Durango. I was very nice to have a truck, the way it was equipped, all I had to do was point it down the road, and not worry about the truck itself, since it was perfectly happy, not running hot, not tach'ed out and not being pushed around by every Smart Car that passed me...

I know that Darrin has made the comment the Cummins swap on Big Ed saved his marriage.... (no, i am not suggesting a Cummmins swap), but with his turned up IDI, he was grumpy on the road because having to be concentrating on the truck all the time, and when he got where they were going, he was exhausted and grumpy from the drive and getting set up. Now, with the truck set up the was it is, he just drives and is much more pleasant to be around while doing it......

My recommendation is a Baby Moose. My example was over 100 miles, you are going 1,000+ miles.... Make the truck happy where you are going to be using it...... since this truck is a heavy tow rig, make it happy at MAX GVW, and you can play with the little extra you have when not towing, rather than making a racecar empty and have a now uncontrolled bucking Bronco when it's doing what you need it to...... Similar to a thread we had next door (superdutydiesel.com) of someone who was LEASING a 2016 SuperDuty Diesel and wanted to know how to defeat the ~100mph speed limiter. I told him, these 2 things, 1, using a tuner to defeat the speed limiter on a leased truck was STUPID because more than likely it would void the warranty on a truck that didn't belong to him. 2, there is never ever any reason to NEED to go over 100mph on the roads in an 8,000lb+ truck. (If I felt the need to go faster than that, I would take the 07 P71 that was designed to do that)......

A truck that is happy 100% of the time makes you, and even more importantly, your wife happy!!!! She really doesn't want to spend the trip looking at the pyro and temperature gauge and not looking out the window at the scenery...........

Scott, many thanks for taking the time for the thoughtful reply. I wholeheartedly agree with you!

Just looked at site. States that it's calibrated at stock turbo db2. Not sure as to cc's but rated at higher calibration than mini moose for n/a. Maybe someone will chime in with exact numbers?

A maxed out stock pump will push ~75cc if its healthy, the baby moose I'd say puts out a bit less than that, but Mel would be able to give you exact figures, mini moose is just stock cal for a na engine, so like 55cc if I remember correctly
