Submitted for oil test and came back high in chromium. They noted that it could be related to a stuck or broken piston ring.

Now: Notice a tapping metal rattle noise coming from cylinder 2 when using a stethoscope. I hear it most clearly from the metal injector line but not from the injector itself. or the valve cover.

Wondering if it could be the injector. Thinking of swamping injectors around and testing for sound. Then proceeding to remove the valve cover and inspect the rockers. Thoughts?

Thanks!

It could be an injector, it could be (not very likely) the injector pump. If you're hearing the noise from the injector/line, then I'd do the injector swap first. If it was from the valvetrain, then you'd hear it from the valve cover first.

I would try loosening injector lines one at a time and see if the nock goes away on any one injector
