I believe he used the tractor sitting next to the truck in the last picture. If you don't need to go very high, you could probably get away with using a couple of jacks and some wood blocks.

What did you use to lift the cab and how "hard" was it? Needing to do the same on my 87. Working on the dash now and found out they crack easy and the frame is rusty.....
Removing the cab on this truck wasn't to difficult as this is a Texas truck so it's not rusty I'm not sure we're your from so I can't say how hard it would be to take the cab bolts off because of rust mine came off easy though

I worked in a paint shop for a couple of years. I did a frame swaps there. We just stuck a 2x12 through the windows and used our bigger forklift to lift it off and put it back on. It worked slick!

Today I put the pedals and tightened up the fenders. Now I'm looking for some one that can help me with the dash as it would be easier with to people will get back to it tomorrow

Yeah the dashboards are a pain. I found that the wiring in the OBS trucks are a lot better than the brick nose. I had mine apart many years ago and I wish I looked over the harness more to neatin it up.

Alright so I'm sorry for not posting recently as this project had to be put on the back burner for awhile but everything should be good to go now. The truck is being trailed to a shop so I can do more welding on it as I missed some parts before so once I can get more pictures for you guys they will show up on here

Got my "new" cab bolts off VERY easily actually. Little harbor freight electric lugnut impact worked great. Going to try the 2X12 trick. Once I get one of the two cabs welded its time for paint. Got the dash out of both cabs. Not that hard really. Neatened up the wiring on my old dash I'm keeping. Have a complete red brick dash if someone needs it. That old cloth tape is a mess to deal with. Stripped it all off and re-taped it and it looks so much better. Also included the power window and lock cross body harness in the dash harness for cleaner install and its all together in one. Trying to use as much as possible from original truck so I don't have a frankentruck. Even down to clips and fasteners that are still serviceable.

I got all the ac components in place and hooked up quick question does the idm need to be grounded to the truck via bolted to the fender or does is have a wire to it

From what little I know and can remember, it grounds to the fender. If you don't want to do this, you can run a ground wire off of one of your mounting bolts to be sure.

IDM grounds by one of the wires in the connector. EVTM indicates no case ground with PCM or IDM. I've connected a spare IDM and just had it sitting loose, and it ran the truck just fine.
