So I moved to a new area of Oregon for my new job as an enjuneer, fresh out of school. A friend of mine has a 1500 acre ranch down there. I'm actually living with him and his wife (knew her in HS) while I work M-F and then go back up North a few hours where my family currently is. Well one night he invited me over to the ranch so I went to go take a look. SO MANY PROJECTS!

Anyways he asked me if I could get an "Old Farm Truck Running" and I said sure. Then I walked up on it. We got to talking, he said they would pay me to work there. I said what about bartering? And thats when I talked myself into this truck. They also have a set of Toyo MT's in 315/75/16 that I'm going to work off as well.

But as of writing this, its mine whenever I want it. I feel like I should work a little more. I did just save them $2k because a mechanic wanted to replace the IP on a VP Cummins. They towed it home and I bled the fuel system, and its been running fine since. They had just ran it out of fuel, the fuel gauge isn't working.

I'm going to DD this thing, as our new house is only a few miles from home. I'll start fixing the Red Truck while I drive this thing around. Super stoked!

I'm thinking a 110-150cc pump. 7.3 IDI, BW s364 fmw. Maybe keep the T19 and throw in a overdrive box.

So since I've gotten my F250 down there, I'll be DD this gasser while I tear into that. So far I'm actually enjoying driving it, despite it getting horrible fuel mileage. It feels as strong as my IDI, even with a weak cylinder (chuffing exhaust).

I'm getting tired of the rough running due to what I think are burnt exhaust valves, so I'm picking up a 7.3 IDI this weekend for cheap. It'll get torn down and inspected then thrown in it. Just have to modify the 460 T19 to bolt up to it correctly.

Don't waste your time with the idi....dt360/12v/psd would be way more worth the effort. If your gonna go through the effort, do it right.

While I like the idea of throwing a DT360 in this, I think your plans for the IDI are solid. I'd definitely throw an intercooler on it.

Though, I've gotta say: you want to put a T-19 behind a (relatively speaking) hot rod IDI? Why not step up to a ZF? A T-19 behind a souped-up IDI seems to defeat the purpose, IMO.
