So my 91 ex cab F250 7.3 4sp auto 3.55 geared truck is a runner....

Thus its also a new project...aka Black Mamba....

I like the grey interior better than blue in the Blue Ox.

If possible it may be the combination of black mamba and blue ox to make 1 ride.

Today was trans wiring repairs for testing and it appears good so far.

I need a replacement harness lol.

Then it was on to pass side window....replaced that seems need the replacement gears for power window drive....
Anyone got a part #???

Well after the window it was a sneek n peek at front brakes on D50 ttb...ok but all bj show need of replacement...ugh...might be 60 swap from blue ox...then rear diff too....dunno.

Removed running boards and tomorrow it is the mounts...

Going see how I like auto trans driving.

The engine in this truck has ZERO....and I meam ZERO blow by so to me its worth getting it runing well trans and diffs wise.

I will get some pics tomorrow.

Swapped plates onto it for test run seems like goes like hell but OD not working yet...I do have 1 2 3 though and Dd starts correctly now.

More to come as I wkrk on 2 blue ox n black mamba together....

Thanks for looking.

Doorman Help 1330823 or 74410 is the nylon plugs to go inside the triangle on the gear

74409 is the gear

I have yet to find a replacement for the motor worm gear, but that's why I keep a couple used motors on hand

Couple early morning shots...nothing great but good starting platform...some better wiring than 88 blue ox.

As you can see typical diesel filth..

Typical rust spots

8000 lb Warn winch...needs some work...must test it out but either the motor or solenoid pack or controller is shot.

Thanms for looking

Thanks for the video!
It's really helpful as I don't have any experience with the idi other than my truck. I'm trying to assess the condition of my engine before installing a ATS factory turbo kit. My truck starts right up cold, much like your black truck, maybe even better. When cold, there's no visible blow by from the oil fill. Hot, at normal operating temperature, at idle there's some visible blow by. Much less than in your video, about like a lightly "steaming tea kettle". As soon as I bring my RPM's up any signs of the "steaming tea kettle" dissappear. From a diagnostic stand point, what does this tell me about the condition of my engine and it's suitability as a turbo candidate?
Many thanks...

Post your own vid in a thread and we can discuss your concerns....likely sounds like good turbo candidate.

70 degrees a hot day... HA! On another note; rig up a manual switch for your glow plugs and hold them on for 15 seconds before you start cranking. I'm willing to bet both your trucks would start easier with a longer glow plug run. Mine starts faster than I can release the key from start position.
