Last night I finished porting the heads on my 7.3. This morning I took them to a machine shop. I spent about 15 minutes talking about valve recession and other tolerances. He seemed like he understood, but I guess I'll see. I know it wasn't my whole truck, but at least it was PART of it.

What all did you port? The exhaust side is what I've seen needed the most

Definitely! I just gasket matched the ports. The intake needs up to 1/16" taken off about halfway around to match. The exhaust needed up to 1/4" in places. I only went in about 2 to 2 1/2" during the reshaping. The rest I just tried to get rid of the casting marks and smooth the rest of the port out. I also polished (to the best of my ability) everything I could reach. I took new valves, seals, Comp 910 springs, and a piece of paper with the recession specs written down to leave with the machinist. He's going to install new bronze guides and check out the seats.

Set up my fuel for a family trip this weekend. I run w85 (waste motor oil and gasoline) so I'm bringing 130 gallons with me to make the drive without having to stop!

Threw some brake shoes on chip truck.Replaced the broken glove box in the accord.Touched up the wood chipper with a couple more bottles of bed liner since I had some welding work done to it so it no longer has gray primer spots.

Hauled my buddy's Dakota to another mud bog. She ran a little warm so I might have to look into that...

No issues though!

Skeleton pretty much picked clean then power washed. Ended up buying a set of replacement wangkung front fenders. Considering powder coating them with zinc rich primer and then picking a "red" that closely matches final paint (canyon red). Considering this in an attempt to provide better corrosion resistance. I'm unsure about powder coating over an unknown primer and there's no way to remove factory primer down inside fenders..... Any opinions on powder coating over this paint? They list coating as electrostatic paint system.....

Well Friday I did the pivot bushings and added some gear oil to the rear, still need to change that...

Today I changed a radius arm bushing, repacked a wheel bearing, painted the hub while it was off, changed the steering column, and did an oil change. Oh, and ordered a new rear u-joint.

Busy busy busy!
