Did a search, Gear Vendors!
Is this the only company that make auxiliary overdrives?
Remember visiting a site of an auxiliary od maker but lost, (cannot remember) their name. Maybe same folks. Price is about the same 3K.

satx, found some info on factory svc manuals for my 92 F350 idi, but can't remember where. I found these manuals 3 years ago for my 98 E350 7.3.
But appears slim pickings for something similar for the 92 F350.
Could you shed some light on what document number covers the 92 F350 IDI?
Also, if anyone's needs any info from these 2 books of mine, feel free to ask. I will take good picks and send off.
Mike

Duke57,

NO, I have ZERO experience with GV OD units but have heard nothing but GOOD reviews of them.

Other than the factory workshop manual (that is $$$$$$$), the only book on the 1992 IDI trucks (that I know of) is by CHILTON Publishing.
(There's usually at least one copy for sale on Amazon.com)

yours, satx

There might be other overdrive manufacturers but Gear Vendors are the gold standard for sure.
They were also very good to deal with when as a result of an electrical failure, my unit was badly damaged.
They sold me a gasket kit and dug around in their used spare parts so I could repair my long out of production unit.

As to manuals, I can't seems to lay my hands on it right now but I own a 1986 factory manual that just covers light truck motors (including the 6.9).
It covers the motors and then has little bits specific to either a truck or van as needed. Most of the 6.9 information covers the 7.3 until at least 1991, just some internal dimensions and the fuel filter setup are different.
