Run whichever one you want. I always hear people say the wastegate turbo is better etc but that's a complete farce. You have to understand how a turbo works. All the wastegate does is operate a flapper valve covering a 3/4 hole in the exhaust housing. It can in no way help build boost quicker as the hole is either shut. Or starting to open to limit your boost. If I were you just run whichever ones better condition. I have a banks sidewinder wastegate turbo setup and love it. I don't mean to be rude but I've heard that a lot on this site and want to correct the perception.

A non wastegate turbo the exhaust housing is sealed so you'll get maximum drive pressure to spin the turbo. That's why a lot of race setups use a non gated turbo and externally mounted wategate. If anything a wastegate turbo is worse for spool up and low end as as soon as it starts seeing positive charge pressure it's pushing on the diaphragm that could start leaking exhaust pressure to bypass the turbine wheel.

This was a big help. thank you sir. I'm not too turbo savvy.

Not to be the *** I am, BUT...

Yea turbine housing size has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DIFFERENCE IS SPOOL SPEED, its all the wastegate???
F.U.D Warning...

F.u.d.....= effin usless data.

YOU BOTH NEED to read up.

Check out compounds on pullin rigs.
Yes a bov and ext wastegate do similar jobs, but its a rare idi that sports one.

Rant over. Cb out.

I don't understand. Are you implying that one of these turbos is better then the other? or are you staying that wg turbos are far superior. I don't underage the point of your comment.

This...^^^
The amount of personal preference here and not fact is enormously misleading.
But its just my .02

The 2 style's are doing the same thing in vastly different ways.
A 10 mm turbo versus a 100 mm turbo will both raise intake pressure, but.....
