I'm not sure if there is a thread on this already if so I apologize. How do I get enough slack in the line to connect this?

Theres a little white plastic lock that you have to pull out on your park brake pedal assembly. This will allow you to pull the cable back. Once you do that you can set the brake and release it a few times to reset the pedal position then reinsert the lock so that the automatic adjuster doesn't slip. I can take a pic of the little plastic piece when I get home.

1993 I got it connected now my ebrake isn't working though I think I have to adjust it. I used a wratchet strap to pull it in to connect it as suggested. When your press the foot pedal it's extremely hard and the ebrake isn't holding. Should I tightin it on the access spot on the back of the wheel?

I'm sure it's simple but I'm running all new lines. I was wondering how I disconnect the cable from the foot pedal assembly? It looks like it sits in the gear. I also figured out why it's not tightening the cable was broke inside of the drum on both sides.

On an OBS, you should be able to pull the release handle with one hand, then pull backward on that intermediate cable with the other. That will "de-adjust" the auto-adjust mechanism in the pedal/release assembly. Then connect the splitter thingy, apply / release a few times and the auto-adjust should do its thing.

Did you replace your rear flexible cables going to each rear wheel? They like to rust and lock up. I would not force them if they are stuck, if you do then they will be stuck in the apply position and your rear brake will get very hot. The cables are very cheap at any parts store. They sell boat loads of them because all these trucks have rusty parking brake cables.

Just got the rear ebrake cables going to the drum. I believe they where siezed. I also got new pads, springs, self adjusters today for 150 gonna attempt to do my drum brakes tomorrow. Iv never done them before seems like a difficult job. My brake pads looked ok but they had some small cracks in the pad so I'm gonna replace them while I'm in there.
Also found a broken cable in the drum (pic ) that could be part of the problem. Anyone know what it is?

That broken cable is part of the automatic adjuster. It should attach to the lever by the adjusting screw at the bottom between the shoes.

^^^^ Usu. included in the more complete "drum brake hardware" kits.
I don't know if there's a better brand, but I've found the typical AutoZone kit, the cables are junk.
They're crimped on, would be better to add some solder/braze.

Ok I got the brakes in the only thing I'm not sure on is if I have the automatic adjuster in right? They weren't attached to reference when I took it apart.
