Need some info on the positive cable that connects the two battery's and goes to the starter. I've got a hunch this guy has gone bad and need a lead on where to get a new one or what its exact name is. Thanks.

If this is for the '86 in your signature, A12300HP is NOT the right one. It would probably fit, but the correct one is A11600HP , also available at RockAuto.

So as I'm slowly working on converting to stud group 31 batteries, is there any benefit to upping these sizes or are they sufficient? I can get 5ft of 4/0 for $50 pre terminated which is not significantly more than the 2/0 is (this place doesn't carry 3/0). That being said, no point in wasting the money if it's unnecessary.

I'm doing my grounds in 2/0.

Every size larger cable reduces the voltage drop a slight amount under high curent draw. It is diminishing returns, but every bit counts on stubborn IDI or PSD. Perhaps more so on the PSD because the IDM needs 10V minimum.

When I wired my E350, I went with #2/0 between the batteries, and #4/0 to the starter. I used bulk welding cable, hammer-crimped lugs, and military style terminals.

Doing mine the same way...starter cableo_O...check! Battery inter-connect...hmyeah, on the to-do list.
Ground cables appear serviceable...cleaned, a dab o' dielectric, tight and done...fer now.

That's what I was leaning towards, 2/0 between and 4/0 to the starter. Thanks for the input.
