Just want to give a huge thank you to IDIoit. He had been awesome to work with and has been great at keeping me updated throughout the build. His work is top notch. I cannot wait to drive my truck for the first time after all this is done.

thanks man! I hope to have your truck back soon! little things like 45* turbo boots always hold a project back.
but its what your engine asked for.
admittedly, it has taken longer than I thought to get to this point, but something happens every day!
I wanted to have it on the engine run stand and fired up by now, but fabbing things like a new cooler bracket on the engine stand, makes life easier.

soon we will hear that thing roar to life!

I'm sure it won't make much of a difference but I ran the hot side to the front and cold to the rear on that ic because in my mind the air from the clutch fan hitting the cold side of the ic may heat it up.

it don't make much of a difference. without doing all new piping, that's how I had to run it.
if there is a temp difference between the 2, im pretty sure it will be within a degree.
ive spent a lot of Andrews money, so im tryin to keep the price down.

and your brackets were garbage lol. ill be making something else soon.

I tried to pull the exhaust elbo and switch it from a slip fit to a 3" v'band. but the bolts felt like they were gonna strip when I loosened em. I don't want anymore surprises with this, so were gonna leave it until the turbo gets rebuilt.

its now on the engine run stand, I need to replace my temp gauge and boost hose so that I can moniter the engine.
tomorrow im back at it!

I was shooting for this month to have it running, but work and life got in the way.
hope to atleast have the engine ran and timed by the end of the month.

yea I do really really nice work. I just forget really really important plugs!
:oops::bs:Thumbs Up:kick:

spent all that time on every other surface of the engine. but forgot 1 damn thing LOL

this is exactly why I put every engine on the run stand before I install it in the truck.
luckily its only ran for literally a second.

You need to setup a c6 behind that test stand, with the output yolk locked solid and a transbrake on it, to load the engine some. Lol. My local carb shop has a 355 Chevy with a glide behind it set this way to set up vac secondaries quickly

and the saga of failure continues.
got the engine back together, and fired it up again.
oil pressure gauge was the only oil leak...
SWEET, ITS GOT 65 LBS OF PRESSURE @ COLD IDLE.
it calmed down after the air got worked out.
runnin good! everythings golden!

threw it a rev, and bam the fan sucked the radiator straps and killed the fan and the radiator...
got a new fan on, but im not using a nice aluminum radiator to fire this thing up. so I ordered another one.

ill have video tomorrow lol

Not sure about you but that would have scared the poop out of me when that happened. I'm surprised the fan had that much suction..
