Put 1000mi on in 3 days and turned 250k mi in the process. Ran like a top. Still don't know what the PO's did to this truck but it pulls hills at 60-65 if no one gets in the way. ;-). But I'm probably not getting 13mpgs.

Ordered a bunch of stuff from LMC for my cab swap project. Good news, it appears they have modified their shipping charges and are now in the somewhat reasonable range!

Well guys, this is gunna break your hearts.......Chip truck passed commercial safety inspection. She's good for another year. You know what this means don't ya? Another year of not shelling out 50 grand plus for a new diesel truck.....Oh shucks.Doesn't it just suck to be IDI owners? ;)

I'll just continue to shed the tears all the way to the bank.:D

Yeah, all passenger cars and trucks need an annual safety inspection.$12.50 pass or fail.
Commercial vehicles, annually $50........and it's a BIG checklist. They don't mess around.I love it.I know I'm driving something safe with a crap load of weight on it,when it passes inspection. That 50 bucks offers such peace of mind, knowing (well, anything can happen even with new parts) the odds a tie rod, ball joint, wheel bearing,etc.etc.etc.whatever,isn't about to let go and send the truck head on into traffic or into a tree lol.I know a lot of folks don't like 'em.They're a bit of a hassle but oh well.I say living with taking someones life because I was driving a unsafe truck would be much more of a hassle. So I don't only not mind them,I wish all states had mandatory safety inspections............Yeah,I get the tomatoes thrown every time I say this.:D

We have it here but only for CDL trucks, but your chip truck would be under CDL right? Our chip trucks get it every year

Found a hole! Or two. At once. Power company trenched in some underground right next to my tail water. The road was dry on top....

It's not a bad idea - we have 6 monthly ones here for commercial (over 3.5 ton) and vehicles made before 2000. newer light vehicles have an annual inspection . About $120 - $250 for commercial depending on axles and weight and about $50 for light vehicles. Over here people don't maintain anything unless they are forced to as insurance isn't compulsory and you can't be sued for an accident. On our trips over to Cali we've found some pretty serious defects in d/d cars when we've been looking to buy to bring back ...... serious enough that i'd be nervous about sharing the road with them.

See if you had a new diesel without the tall skinnies, you could have floated right across them holes.:D I thought I was the only one that ever buries a truck like that.

I'll be very impressed if you tell me that after locking those manual hubs (something those new trucks don't know about), you hit the 4 low on the shifter and drove right out! Did you know it is next to impossible to find hidden holes like that in the Rockies?

I actually did!

But there was a tractor at the end of a log chain also in the mix.... both alxes were on the ground on the drivers side.

For a second i thought the flatbed was comming off. It went straight up a foot before going back at all.

Theres a few sink holes around here, never had any give much problems though. but this was the result in the power company trenching a line right by my tail water... water must have found its way into the trench and filled it up. It was getting all wet under the pickup as I waited for reinforcements to arrive.
