1989 7.3. Still has a knock after I replaced injectors and IP. Also replaced oil cooler. Sounds like passenger side down low. Replaced glow plugs as well. Starts great runs strong. Knock seems louder after warmed up. Kinda bummed. Didn't want to have to get into it this far.

it could still be an injector. you can loosen the line on the injector while its running and see if the sound goes away.

Last one I had doing this, lasted 2 days before it broke the piston and sent the rod through a water jacket.
oh boy Cory don't get his hopes up too much.
one thing you could try and it MIGHT work, use a breaker bar and roll the crank back and forth with a rotation or so to see if you can hear a knock from down under..

I had one sounding similar to what you are describing. Pull the valve covers on that side... loosen the rocker arms and make sure all the pushrods move freely.
I had one punched through the top of a lifter.
Also check the rockers themselves as they are prone to breaking and causing a racket.

It shouldnt knock...its not a door or a boxer engine
