Ahh. I should have paid more attention to the rally thread.

I was actually heading to Carlisle to meet Dunk. He's the (hopefully) proud owner of a mint bullnose core support.

I bet if crawler seen it in the back of the car I would have been ran off the road!
I got two good clean cores hanging in my garage... ;)

And yes, closer to home a silver tdi did it too

You got more than one tdi thumbs up? Not that it's undeserved but i find it kinda funny.
Hey, not all TDI owners are truck-hating hippies LOL

My TDI makes a great daily driver and complements my IDI quite well...fuel saved by driving the TDI means more money to spend on the truck LOL

(On the other hand, I have a bit of hippie in me, so maybe I'm not the best example :rotflmao )

Little(big) update. It appears that the little tow job I did at the rally may of hurt it. Been noticing a little more white/blue smoke out the tail pipe, and blow by getting worse. Decided to change oil and tear open the filter since I got a filtermag on it. Only 1200 miles on the oil. Not to pretty

So I did a compression test. Highest was 375. Lowest was 275. And a 280, 310. Think I found my blow by issue. Thinking I got it a little to hot during the rally rescue. Owell crap happens

So I dug out the 6.9 that I pulled from the truck for leaking coolant externally from head gaskets. Decided to do a comp test before anything. Engine has been sitting for 4 months wide open and drained of all fluids. 400 was lowest, 475 highest. The 400 cyl I shot a little atf down into it and cranked it over then retested. 475 out of that hole.

And now the parts started coming in. Ordered all gaskets and seals, along with a set of studs for the 6.9.

I'm sure the timing of all this wasn't in your plan., but it's great to hear that you have a motor on the shelf with those compression numbers. ;Sweet

Nope, was hoping to not have to touch under the hood for a while. But now I get a chance to clean it up a little more. Move batteries, redo firewall as I still have a little rubbing on up pipe, and just make it look better.
