Looks like you have enough meat there to grab it with a vice grip. How hard did you torque it? Those bolts are pretty tough and should stand up to a good amount of torque.

This is the first major thing iv ever had to torque by myself, so I bought the best Torque wrench napa had and I set it to 54 lbs. is that way too much?

You got lucky. Should be easy to back out. Vise grips or weld a nut on the end.

I would take it to a hardware store and match it with a grade 8

I think the torque specs for those bolts are 47 ft. Lbs.
Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them all if one let go. And make sure you put sealant on those bolt threads as well

There was some type of either locktite or sealant, I put blue locktite over it as well. Should I put some silicone instead?

replace them all! if Ford dealer doesn't have them anymore, go to your local fastener store and match them up with grade 8 or better bolts. blue loctite or equivalent on the threads on assembly.

If one sheered at 54lbs, then there is something wrong with the bolt, I would suggest ordering a box of grade 8 bolts from a fastener supplier such as McMaster or fastenal, get grade 8 with a chromate plating, put a drop of blue loctite on the threads.

Is the torque wrench that you got new or is it a rental? A grade 8 bolt should not sheer at 54lbs so I would suspect something wrong with the wrench.

You really got lucky. These threaded holes in the crank flange enter the oily side of the crankcase. So oil will leak past the threads. Most any thread sealant will work. Try any Navistar dealer for these bolts. I agree replacing all of them and have the torque wrench checked for calibration somehow. Maybe rent another to compare or borrow someones wrench. Just make sure your new one is correct. You may have had some over stressed bolts before you did this job too. these are older engines and who knows who worked on it last.

What range does your torque wrench have?

If its 50-300 it is pretty much useless to ya.

Remember to dial down wrench to lowest setting when not in use or 1-2 lbs below....mine is set to 19lbs 20 is lowest setting.

This keeps tension off spring prolong life and accuracy

Picture is kind of fussy, but that bolt didn't just shear off (break) it twisted off.
Did the bolt have more to go before it was tight? Could have bottomed out, then have just twisted off. Bolt too long?

Could have been very well have been stretched before.
