You could heat wrap the headers or use those metallic heat shield bags to keep them hot, but i would imagine longtubes like that would not be idea for a turbo. Arent our factory mnanifolds pretty darn efficient anyways?

For a turbo setup I think the headers would be money better spent on other upgrades, but would love to have a shiny set for my NA truck!

Now if you want power and still to be n/a, I have a suggestion. I have headers on my 85 with true dual exhaust. When I had a 6.9 in it, I got a Typ4 cam, ported the heads, put a Moose Jr. and new BB injectors in. Now that thing would run for a n/a. My mistake was to use another pair of heads. I didn't stop to think about the mileage on them. It ran great for about 4 miles and then a valve went out. If you do this to your truck, it will perform very good even as a n/a.

I don't know. It was my first attempt. Basically, I just did gasket matching and then took out enough material to look like it would flow better. The intakes needed very little, just a clean up. The exhausts on the other hand, took a lot more. The same with the 302 heads I just did a couple of months ago. I've been told that it's a Ford trait. Must be one for International too.

From what I've seen that seems about right, these heads flow really well and the intake is almost perfect but the exhaust can be improved upon, cool to see someone else cutting into these heads:thumbsup:

Thanks. I'm going to do the same to the 7.3 that's in it now. I still need to pull it out, but of course, I now have plans for it this weekend too. I'm going to swap the cam from the 6.9 in it. I'm going to have the valve guides replaced because I don't know the condition of them. I will stud the heads in prep for a turbo. Hopefully soon!

if you want it to rev, balancing the rotating assembly and modifying /replacing the injection pump is a must. the internals are pretty fricken heavy in the stock idi 6.9/7.3
