Over the weekend I managed to tear out a whole bunch of stuff attached to the frame, next to the front driveshaft. once of the items was the FSV. The Ford engineer who put the FSV in the location it was in, needs to be dipped in honey, chained at the stake and have the joints of the remaining appendages, shot with a .22. with the off road shielding in place, this is not something you would want to do. in the best or worst conditions known to man. By the time I got done with the job, I was soaked to my shorts in diesel fuel. I had two choices, walk home or drive home naked since I was not about to screw up the interior of the Nostromo from this debacle. after an hour of scrubbing in hot water, I still reaked of diesel. break out the simple green and a sponge and keep the stuff off my nutsac. well......I now have a light green tint to my skin color for the next few days, i smell like a room freshener, but at least I don'e reak of diesel anymore. :O I'm not so sure which was worse. :O

The dumb sob that put it in that hole on the scab trucks has a special place in hell all ready and waiting. That is why I moved mine a couple feet forward. Absolutely ridiculous. I had a hard time getting it out of an otherwise bare frame. I can't imagine doing it roadside in the stock location. Glad you got it fixed but sorry you had the diesel bath.

I think the only worse feeling thing is gasolene in your underarm pits. Diesel will burn but gas burns worse. Who would have known weeds could rap up in a driveshaft like that. Might try dusting with baking soda or take a bath in a cold water bath of baking soda. Using cold water keeps your pours closed up so the diesel wont get deeper in.

Huh, you learn something everyday. I sure could have used that baking soda trick many times in the past from working on leaky oil furnaces

Baking soda in the wash will "get the stink" out that no other detergents can... Ever leave your washed clothes in the washer over night ot till they are nearly dried??? Yeah.. That milduey smell we all learned on crowded buss rides in school. Happens here ALL too often with wifeys clothes. She is lazy and just forgets she has clothes that needs to be dried.. Once it gets into the clothes it stays there. Even another wash will not rid it of the stink. but half a box of some baking soda clears it up in the next wash. Its a miracle in a box!!!:angel:

Be careful with purple power. It is caustic and will burn you if its too concentrated. Rinse thoroughly.

purple power is nothing short of diluted draino. I ruined a set of rims with that stuff. I can only imagine what it does to skin that doesn't see sun too often -cuss

Taken out by weeds.

I feel for you. I see there were even dried thistles in the bunch. Nice. :p
yep them weeds are 6ft tall thanks to our wet winter.
i will be devising some type of shielding for these trucks since there are two F350 brush trucks I babysit for the local VFD.

Although it is too late to help now, WD40 has many uses, including cleaning goo off of skin. Not sure if replacing one smell for another would have been much help anyway. If you have road grime or greasy, sticky
anything you need cleaned off, whistle **** is your go to spray. The number of things it can do is just amazing.
