Trucks looking great! I wish I had the time at this point to do some welding. Fabbing is kind of therapudic for me.

I got that all bolted in....forgot to get a picture.

Onto the front. I made some frame liners from an old frame we had laying around. i'm bolting it in where the steering box is, and the same spot on the other side to distribute the load of the front crossmember.

Brandon got a plasma cutter, chopping out 1/4 inch takes seconds!

I will obviously clean them up, but I breath enough fumes for one night cutting, welding, and grinding. this will brace up the front and prevent it from diamonding.

Brandon was sick of sheetmetal work, so I sat back and let him do some heavy welding! Custom engine cradle.

Wow, very impressive work! Your fab work is what I would consider way overkill, but I don't have the patience to do what you are doing. Truly beautiful!!! Its a crying shame that people will have to crawl under it to see that artwork! Keep it up!

Wish I was almost done!!!! It's so the t case doesn't "swing". The divorced 205s are notorious for doing that. My scout did it and I had to add a brace.

Yeah stinky ford, its a shame 80% of my fab work will never be seen again once it's assembled! But is rather make it too strong so if don't have to worry about an issue later!

Popped off the head.

Yeah there's junk on the pistons, some debris snuck down the injector holes.

I need to pull the piston and measure clearances. I can see a lot of the ring, and if I try to move the piston it'll clunk on the cyl wall. I was hoping to get away without a rebuild, but I may have to slip in some liners and pistons..... ugh.

That's a heavy duty engine craddle. I guess a serious engine needs a serious craddle/stand. It's nice that you need the chain hoist to pull the head. That's a serious chunk of cast iron.

My shops not big enough. It's a disaster and there's no room with the truck in there. Haha. Yeah it's a monster, good thing we hang onto a lot of scrap metal!

What causes the swing? Also I'd imagine this is a problem more common with factory-style stamped crossmembers that can twist back and forth fairly easy, that beastly thing you got shouldn't have been very prone to such behavior. Regardless tho, if you think you need more support now's indeed the time to build it, and what you built looks pretty darn good. And here I'm yet to even open my 205, let alone actually do something about installing it... LOL

i think your travellete is going to weigh somewhere around 40 tons by the time your done! :rotflmao;Sweet good job i cannot wait for this to be done. i see you are not doing much to the engine. what kind of power and milage are you expecting to get with this setup?

Not sure what causes the swinging motion. it did it on Brandons truck, my scout (I added a 205 to that) and a lot of pickups I drove. it cracks the crossmember and loosens bolts. that's with only 300-ish ft lbs. Add 1000 to that and I don't know what it may do!

Asmith, I hope! haha it'll hookup better on the sled! Thanks, my goal is 500 horsepower. From everything I read all the stock internals, cam, valvetrain, and intake/exhaust will support it effortlessly. Just some more pump work and a nice turbo i'll be tearing up the track.

What class are you going to pull it in? Maybe your local places are different than the places I've been too but they usually just have a run what ya brung class for everything that didn't fit in the other classes rules. It's been a while since I've been to a pull. I really need to get back into that. I really enjoyed it.
