I have and thought carefully about it and did not want to change over. The whole brake system is new in this truck will stop just fine not going to set any speed records lol.

Not much more weight then a big block. The front springs I got are for a big block. Plus I am shaving a lot of weight from the front like the batteries in the bed.

Yep.

Another thing that I wanted to ask about: putting the timing advance on a switch...
Where did you hear of that?
In the Ford idi section people had talked about it, but decided it wasn't a good idea.
Really with the timing set right and fuel up a bit, these engines are pretty peppy to say the least. Mine was in a 79 c30 (6.2 n/a), had plenty of power.
Light truck like yours, I don't think you'll need any extra power like that.

Well this is just a test really on other diesel's I have built adv really woke up the top end but the bottom suffered. I thought I would set the timing stock and then have more adv at top end with a switch. Like I said this is a test just to see what it might do might free up some free power who knows.

Oh, I gotcha.
Interesting to see how it turns out.
I didn't even have the advance hooked up on mine. But from the ford IDI's, I know the power feel you're talking about.

Yep I am not going to use the adv for anything else so might as well try to use it for power.
