Hello everyone

Been here many times looking and reading. This is a great community of people and a lot of knowledge. I have a 1988 F250 7.3 IDI Banks turbo, C6 with a Gearvender that is a joy to drive. I finally decided to join when I got my son in-laws 1993 GM 6.5 that was in a shop for five months, and $3900.00 later wasn't fixed. I have worked on diesels for over 30 years and haven't seen the problem that this truck has.

I know this isn't the place to post the problem, so I will move to the 6.5 forums and see what ideas, and thoughts arise from my post.

Welcome to O/B. This is the best place for good, constructive help.

One suggestion: put your truck info in your signature (top of page, settings, signature) to help people know the details of your vehicles when you post.

You will find some very helpful and smart cookies on here. Don't be shy about asking questions that is what brought most of the people here to begin with. As you know the only stupid question is the one not asked.

Welcome, I live just outside of Salem and work in town. Lots of good info and people on here. You work on trucks around Salem? I used to be over at Brattain a few years ago, but now work in a fleet shop.

I worked at Rural Metro Fire Department (Arizona) support services as a fleet services supervisor, mechanic for River Bend S&G for many years, ODOT Salem truck shop for 5 years(TO LONG), and then the heavy stuff started to take its toll on my body, and now for the last 18 years own and run a auto repair shop here in Salem.

I do miss the fleet repair, all you have to put up with is the drivers and thats easy.

I'm new here too, I live in Salem OR as well, currently have my F350 parked since it needs repairs, probably a new IP and Injectors...

Nice to see there are others here that live near me. Hope to maybe meet some of you.

I was just thinking that same thing :)

Typ4 is over in Newberg I think, theres a couple other members in the general area. Leeland is in Salem too ;Sweet

Rhk - haven't spotted your truck around town yet, usually keep a good eye out for other IDI's. Hard to spot in a sea of power strokes...
