Just an interesting bit of info I just learned. Texaco markets their brand of HD diesel oil, Ursa, and Chevron markets their Delo 400. Delo seems to be considered a quality brand of oil by many people and the prefered oil of some manufacturers. Ursa is seemingly unheard of by most people, but my father and I have used it in the feedlot equipment for years with more than exellent results and now in my pickup. Since it appears that Chevron and Texaco are mereged does this mean that Delo and Ursa are the same oil, just bottled in a different color of jug? I ask this question because on my last oil change I took a sample of the oil and it surpased the viscosity and flashpoint tests. ;Sweet I refilled the engine with Delo this time and am going to do another analysis to see how the two compare. Just an interesting thought I guess.

Good question?!

I have no idea!

But I would like to know, why is it that our corner convince store was a Texaco, now its a Chevron

And on the main freeway interchange into our town, there was a Shell, now its a Texaco, and the Texaco thats across the street is now a Chevron.

And They're ALL ripoffs! -cuss

Interesting...most of the Texaco stations in the Houston area were bought out by Shell.

I'm sure some of the change in station name has to do with the franchising fees and costs that are passed on directly to the owner from changing the name on his station and possibly requirements for other services or dictated prices for certian items in the store.
