Saw on craigslist someone had new nerfbars for sale, for a 09/10 Dogde, and was wondering if the mounting procedure could be modified to fit my old 93 Ford???
A person would need to make sure the length worked for your pickup and they typically mount to the frame rail,:dunno,????
Just curious if I'm cookoo:rotflmao or could this work and better yet, has anyone done this.
Thanks guys.

I would think with the right amount of fab work that you could make some frame brackets to fit, but its hard to say for sure

Thats knida what I thinking. The brackets for any type of pickup still attach to the frame rail. So I was thinking, drill some new holes or whatever and shazam.

I know good prices, the ones I saw were $150 NIB. They were for a Dodge mega cab, Crew Cab???, so they might be a little long, but thats why I posted this question. Do you know how much yours would have been new??

1. They do make a set for your truck.
2. Usually they mount to the body, some do mount to the frame, never both.

The ones I got for Goldie mount on the rear shackle bolt on the front spring assembly and to the frame on the rear of the nerf bars.
Made by Westin and are chrome.

Thanks for the heads up on ebay, those black bars really make me -Drool. Don't even have to do any extra fabrication. I'm still toying with the idea of crewcab.cookoo
About a week ago I pulled a grille and the bezels around the headlights at a salvage yard, painted them flat black.(I'll try to post some pics of before & after.) So I'm looking to go more subdued look.
rjjp & Dsl_Dog_Catcher thanks for the info.

The nerf bars on my 93 have 3 mounting points. First is the cab mount, then on a bolt coming through the floor for the seatbelt and then the rear mount clamps to the frame.

Ford actually had a TSB stating never to mount to the cab and frame, it makes sense, seeing that the cab flexes separately from the frame, their reasoning was that it provided a path for road noise and defeated the purpose of the rubber cab mounts.

Totally agreed. That mounting setup is just looking to rip out the bolt in the cab floor

The way the bracketry is setup on mine, it appears that they could flex without breaking. This is actually the second truck I have used this pair of bars on and haven't had any issues and my 93 has been twisted pretty good at times.
