hello ford friends....browsing rock auto stumbled upon headlights for the 85.....noticed that they have listed

incandescent headlights
halogen headlights
blue halogen headlights

so tell me what you guys think would be the best ? halogen lights are known to have outstanding life but which is brighter blue halo reg halo or incandescent?? figured this was a good convo starter if it has not been covered yet. but the prices are sickeningly cheap anyways. all three of them have to be better than the regular oem wagners!!!

I personally perfer something like a sylvania xtravision. Its a regular halogen bulbs that is roughly 25% bighter than a standard buld with the soft yellow color. I also run the Sylvania Silverstars and hate them for the white light. The blue ones would be worse IMO.

incandescent sealed beams would be stock, halogen are a upgrade.

Stay away from anything with blue in it. Its more for look than function. the blue color output tends to blend in with the dark at night making it less useful for visibility. Amber would be more ideal in that situation, hence why euro cars have amber fogs, or you have amber glasses at the shooting range.

If you want to really upgrade, get a sealed beam conversion kit to use a h4 bulb and get a dual beam hid upgrade.

I have HID's on everything except the big F350 since i don't want to blind the crap out of people. I'm getting ready to do hid fogs down in the bumper to keep from blinding people and giving me visibility.

I must be messed up. I bought blue and love them. I took awhile to get used to them. But after I realize how.they worked(different way of lighting) I put them in everything. I have 2 6" off road lights, 2 2.5x4 "fog lights" I used till I got new lends on the truck. After now I don't use the.extra lights because they don't works as well

I am running the blue xenon halogen bulb in my truck and love how they work. The bulb has a blue tint but the light that our eyes see is a very white and bright color. This blue bulb does not give you the blue color that you see with HIDs just a nice pure white vs. a std halogen's yellowish light.

I dunno I tend to preferr to run the stock bulb housing, and add in the relay kit for improved voltage supply and usually much higher bulb wattage ....like Hella, 80/100's LOL

About a week ago I installed these same bulbs in my Yukon (Slyvania zXe Xenon I believe). The low beams are nice and bright with a crisp white light but I'm still trying to get used to the high beams because they don't seem as bright or focused as the Silverstars I replaced.

The stock sealed beams suck!

In addition to having a thing for OBS fords, i also love W126 Mercedes and old MB's in general. My buddy has a 300SD with h6054 sealed beams and i've been pushing him to go towards euro headlights. We put our cars side by side. The light output between my euro mercedes and his american sealed beam was tremedous.

BTW for those of you comparing your "blue" bulbs such as the Silverstars, the Ge cool blue's he's talking about suck. Absolutely suck and not worth a darn. the silverstars do what they promise, infact most of Sylvania's line does well.

Let me second the vote for Euro-code lights...I'm a very big fan of them. They put out much better light where you need it, without blinding oncoming traffic.

I think I've made my opinion about "blue" bulbs and aftermarket HID conversion kits well-known, but I'll say it again...for the sake of everyone who has to share the road with you, PLEASE do not put them in your truck. I have never seen an HID conversion that doesn't blind everyone else on the road (and, as someone who drives professionally, spends much of his time on the road at night, and lives in an area where the "ricer" crowd is rather strong, I see them all the flipping time), and they are flagrantly illegal and IMHO unsafe.

stock lights are NOT SEALED beams, they have not used SEALED BEAM lights for years, if you can replace the bulb and the lens remains...it's not sealed NUFF SAID Got it? I hope so
