Not sure where to put this thread but I had to go on a service call for my company about 1 am this morning, 1 of our new drivers was driving a new Freightliner Cascadia the exhaust sysem requires the DEF fluid so the driver put some in but he mistakenly put it in the fuel now that POS DD15 engine is a real mess.
So if you know anyone that has a truck that reuires the DEF fluid tell them be sure not to mix it in the fuel, it will act like water in the fuel. The engine will not run at all.

as the old saying goes, 'you can't fix stupid'. If a driver doesn't know the difference between DEF and Diesel he shouldn't have the keys to the truck...

I read on a 6.7L forum that DEF in the fuel is much worse than water because it's very corrosive.

I know from first hand account that DEF fluid in the diesel is extermly corrisve, it will wipe out the fuel, injectorsand anything else in the fuel system, the company I work for had a driver put DEF in the fuel ad no sooner about 3 miles down the road the truck had to get towed back to the shop for repairs, had to drain the tanks, replace the fue pump and injectors, this was in a Freightliner Cascaidia with a Detroit DD15 engine
