I know this has been discussed before, but I cant find it.

What axle width do I need to convert a SRW to DRW if I wish to use a factory bed, either a dually be or a converted non-dually with aftermarket fenders?

Cab n Chassis are different than regular as I recall. I assume I cannot use the dually hubs on my SRW axle and get the right width?

your talking about that 9th generation srw pickup in the pic,in your sig?

you have options.

rear:
swap in a DRW (pickup only) rear axle.making sure you use an axle with the VSS in the rear if your truck is '92 up.

or
DRW spacers.

front:
use factory dually HUBS.these are 2wd or 4wd specific.you didn't give much for info.
if you have the 4wd,then the only place your going to find the 4wd dually HUBS will be from a cab and chassis.
these HUBS and rotors will bolt directly to your D60 or D50 front axle.depending on what you have.

or
arrowcraft makes good quality front SPACERS made to accept the dually rim.these work for 2wd or 4wd trucks and simply bolt on.

then you need 6 budd style rims.7 if you want a spare.
the offsets are not all the same.depending on what you wish to run for tires, you may want to grab these rims the cab and chassis 4wd if you find them.

bed
factory DRW pickup swap or arrowcraft makes fenders for the srw bed.

or
aftermarket flat bed,dump,utility,etc. alternative.

you also didn't say why your converting, which could lead to more detailed suggestions.

My truck is 2WD. I am getting a cab n chassis 2WD uhaul truck, with 6 wheels/tires. What can I use off that truck?

Not sure I am going to do this, but I have some work opportunities coming up where it would be very beneficial to have a dually.

You can use the 6 wheels and tires, and the front dually hubs. You will either need dually adapters for the rear or a PICK-UP dually axle

As to the rear axle, I cant use it becuase its a different width correct?

Is it too narrow or too wide?

Correct. The cab-n-chassis axle is approx 4" narrower than the Dually pickup axle. The spring perch width is also on a 4" narrower pattern.

I missed your comment about the bed part before.
You can either put conversion dually fenders on your SRW bed or find a Dually pickup bed. Factory dually fenders will NOT fit your SRW bed

Or you can always swap a bed on that U-Haul truck and have something like this :D

You must be registered for see images attach

This was originally a 1984 F350 6.9 4 speed reg. cab, cab/chassis truck.

Now has a 1993 super cab on it, with a 1990 box, and '84 front clip.

Extra capacity without the extra width. Hmmmm.....

Did you modify the inner fenders of the bed?

I ran a pickup bed on a cab-n-chassi truck. Didnt need any wheel well mods.

But the truck was also a F350 4wd and was pretty high, unlike the truck John showed the pic of

Buy a dually ...

If you want a dually , buy a dually.

I am dealing with a 94' CC IDI dually right now that some
******* put a single wheel rear axle on - then use spacers
to make it look like the factory axle - I am swapping it
now ....

No offence, but I cannot see would I ever swap a rust free, dependable, economical F250 IDI ZF5 truck, with new brakes (rotors, calipers and drums), shocks, exhaust, suspension and tires, for someone elses unknown dually.

I could see if my truck didnt have any good benefits, and while it isnt perfect, I put 40K miles on my truck last year, and other than a locked up a/c compressor, which lead to a starter failure, its been 100% dependable.

I may be putting a 5th wheel hitch in this truck, and the additional load capacity and stability would be nice.
