I have an 89 Dodge cummins 4x4 with a 727.It works great and I am sure that if I ran a heated WMO tank and switched over when it was warm the truck would have no problems burning wmo.Although I did already break the injectors by single tanking it.However it has an automatic.I abhor automatics, I wish the person who designed the first automatic transmission should be shot if they are still alive.
On the other hand I have started looking at the old idi fords because the 94-98 rams are in the range of 8-11K.Way to much money.I have found two different ford idi trucks for the same price, 1500. ones an 83 and the other is an 86 both with 4x4, a manual, and dual tanks.although I think the 83 is a 4 speed while the 86 is a 5 speed.

So what would be better to burn the oil in?A trusty autotragic dodge or an old 6.9 ford with are known to run on anything.I do tow somewhat and I live in a hilly area.

My 89 also has some mods
HX35
Light pressure piston lift pump
limited slip rearend(I think its dead though)
ramcharger bucket seats
99 ram CD sterio

I dunno looking to run as much WMO as I can get away with..

I have run as much as 75% wmo in a 86 6.9. I would heat one tank and still run 25%-40% diesel in it also. I would go with the idi ford.

Just test drove both fords...start from a stop-it sounds good, doesnt really go good.On the other hand I jump in my truck and press the pedal down and the truck presses you into the seat while roaring and whistling to beat the band...

I think right now I will run a heated tank and switch over once the truck is warmed up...

12v cummins motors love wmo, IMHO they like it a lot more than the idi and the psd do. my street sweeper (22000lbs) with a 12v- rotory pump gains noticable power with 10-20% wmo and my old idi and my psd dont gain noticable power with the same ratio.
Id keep the 12v, mabey not in a dodge if the truck is rough. theres a lot of nice gas rigs that want to be a diesel:sly

Is just making some baffles now.Why is it when you get to the very end of an any material it because very difficult to cut?Even going so far as to start spinning whatever object your where drilling a whole through?I just got smacked in the shin by a piece of aluminum just as I was finishing the cut.I set the aluminum on a piece of 8x8 lumber with one foot on it to stabilize it.so of course it whips around and smacks my other leg...

looks to be a heated pickup.Although I very much prefer the images google came up with "hot fox" Rrrr. Heated pickup shouldnt be an issue.I'm running coolant tubes along the bottom of the tank. Then running a 1/2" gravity feed line to a selector valve then into the main line...The whole tank is higher than the engine...or atleast its higher than the lift pump...

if the dodge has the piston pump they are much more robust to run the alternative fuel. not that the rotary is a complete wimp. honestly after that i dont think there is much differance as long as it is not a newer computer smogged diesel.

I have a lot of free time on my hand and I am going to run a heated fuel tank with engine coolant. Going to also run a small fuel heater under hood with heated wrapped injector lines. I am also playing with the idea of taking my 4bt aluminum intake top plate and running 4 glow plugs in the intake for faster starting power since engine doesn't have glow plugs in head. I am trying to get better fuel mileage with at least 25-30% wmo in my fuel. I am getting around 20mpg now but I want a few more mpg. I am going to be running a 40 gallon or so tank built in the back of the bed. I also picked me up a nice small propane tank for when I can afford a propane injection kit that will work on my engine. Lots of stuff going on with truck hopefully in the next few months.
