you can use dryer vent from home depot or lowes and it bends easy and is cheap. or go to an exhaust shop and see if they have any scrap pieces you can have.

anybody know where to get 4 inch aluminum pipe, somethin with a 45 bend in it. i am also thinking of using pvc sewer pipe....

Check out a steel yard , or a machine shop to see if they have any

I made my own out of SST and AL, i took some 4" SST tubing cut it in half, then cut a 22.5 degree angle on each side, and welded it together, check out the link in my sig for some pics of it

I was thinking of putting a Y adaptor right at the intake, then have one 5in pipe go to the cowl and another go right next to the radiator, or the fenderwell........I dont know what are your thoughts on that one? You think that at the y there would be to much air pushing and actually cause a backup? I do like the fender well idea though........:dunno

Do you have installation advice for a homemade dryer vent cowl induction system? I'm not clear on how it attaches.

im pretty sure u just cut a hole in the fire wall, right were the cowl is.....there is a forum i was reading, its in the archives of someone who just bought a plasma cutter so he decided to do it............you dont want to cut to low cause then youll be at the bottom of the cowl and then when it rains it will drain into your intake.....I dont know the exact measurements......here is a post on the hypermax:

looks like Ironman03R has a pic of his with a dryer vent, you could probably pm him and ask.

I have the Hypermax, but it could easily be done with sheetmetal I cut the firewall with a plasma cutter. a small air cutoff wheel would work nicely too in there You wouldn't want to use a regular cutting torch, too hot, the wiper arm is behind there. If doing in sheet metal, it will be a bit tricky, the firewall is not square, that is where the prefab plastic piece is worth is weight in gold, but with some patience it would be doableyou will nee light gauge sheet and start with a rough rectangle but before bending the flange out you will need to feel how far to cut the thing to shape and to some bending to fit. Once you get it shaped , holes drilled matched to the piece and the firewall, you will need to seal it thoroughly with either ac evaporator box sealant strip or silicone and you should be good to go ;Sweet

im new to this site and i have heard numerous good things about Hypermax Cowl induction setup. I have a 1991 7.3 with ati turbo. i have the pyro and boost gauges and currently getting the 3inch cluster of exhaust replaced with a straight 4inch with a turn out in front of the rear wheel. completely free flowing. I was looking to either purchase the hypermax setup or make something comparable. does anyone have a link?
