My wmo / trams fluid/ hydrolic fluid goes into a 250 gal tank then I
transfer to 55 gal drum drawing 12 inches from bottom of the 250 gal tank.
I run the oc 20 while heating wmo to 150 deg for 24 hrs then clean it out. It removes a black substance that takes gas to desolve and clean. Some very nasty stuf .Takes 3 to 4 days to see the amount of substance in oc 20 to drop. pump draws 5 amps at 120 volts
5 amps x 120 V=600 watts
600 watts x 24 hrs = 14400 watts per day
14400watts / 1000 =14.4 kwatts
14,4 kws x 20 cents kwt = 2.88 $ a day to run.
or somthing closs to it. x 3 days = 8.31 $

When you guys run your oc20's have you filtered down to 1 micron before the centrifuge? If I ever go this route I'm going to get the next size up and just set it up to run one a 55 gallon barrel input and out and let it run on the barrel for like a day...

Do not know how to post pic will try . My OC 20 runs on 55 gal drum
recirculating constantly measured time takes 1hr 15 min to pump 55 gal
threw oc 20.
1- OC20
1- OC20 pump
1-55 gal drum plastic
2- 3/8 barbs one in bottom one in top
1- 1 1/4 x 6 inch pipe niple scewed into OC 20 bottom
1- 4 inch pvc coupling
1- pvc air hose cut and use for plumbing
Set up OC 20 per instuctions, take one bunge out. Set 4 inch pvc coup
over hole ,then OC 20 with 6 inch nipple on top of pvc coup this makes outlet of OC 20 about 1 to 2 inches inside turn on pump and let run.
Ran oil threw 50 feet 3/8 copper inside turkey fryer pot filled with water with 120 v bucket heater inside if water boils out heater is self regulated so very safe and can run unatended safely. And did add air hose quik conects to OC 20. Outlet of OC 20 must
be above oil any backpresure will not let it spin properly. This
also removes moisture. When I am sure oil is clean as pos I
then use OC 20 to transfer oil to a 55 gal mix tank cycling
all oil threw OC 20. Mix 50 % diesel then filter with fuel fill set up
from tractor supply 10 micron then 2 micron fuel filters. The
kind for fuel delivery pumps. Also any magnets I can find go
on bottom of fuel filters.

Talked to oberdorfer pumps today they are mailing coupling today
no charge. This is a plastic coupling that goes between steel motor shaft
and bronze pump shaft. It is desiged to shear to protect motor and pump.

Dont know It pumped 5 55 gal dums of wmo for 3 days each time. It can
pump 55 gal in 1 hr so it pumped somthing like 6000 gal before it snaped.
I will get some spairs for the future. It is designed to shear before pump or
motor damage if something gets in pump gears.I checked didnot see anything
in gears and they turn easy. Its pos the metal strap that holds pump to motor
may have goten loose. Will check after each use know.

just curious if you also factored in the cost of running the heater for 24 hours? I am merely curious here, but since I am a numbers guy, I'd be interested to know the watts used by the heater. BTW, I really dig what you are doing here!;Sweet:cool

BUCKET HEATER - Allied Precision API 742G
Item #: Bucket Heater 742G

1000 Watts - 120 Volt Household Plug-in

This heater is self regulating so it is not on all the time so would be hard to
cal very close colder weater would use more and warmer would use less.
I do fire the propane on startup to help get temp up fast and hoter whin
im watching setup. The 120 v heater will not burn up if all the water boils
out keeps temps high so cetrafuge runs notacable higher rpms by sound
you can tell its spining faster. I do run on hoter days with no rain to help.
But 55 gal of oil burns in place of 4$ a gal diesel. 55x4= 220$
