WELL THIS TIME I PUT IN WVO 60/40 AND IT SMOKE BAD! IT SMOKE MORE THAN THE WMO, WHAT HAPPENED HERE, I THOUGHT THAT WVO SMOKED LESS THEN WMO. LIKE I SAID BEFORE I RAN 50/50 OF ATF AND NEW WMO AND IT SMOKED PRETTY GOOD! I THOUGH THAT IF I USED NEW IT WOULD NOT SMOKE AS BAD AS WMO WOULD, I WAS WRONG! ANY IDEA'S NOW!

I made some changes to my truck 03 dodge cummins. Added fass fuel
pump , large 2 micron bio diesel filter ahead of stock filter, changed injector
tips to 80 hp 105 fpt and started usisng oc 20 dieselcraft cintrifical filter.
still have smoke at 50 % diesel 50 % wmo . But not as bad as before.
Also add fuel injector cleaner every tank of fuel. If smoke gets to bad I fill with stait diesel and inj cleaner till smoke is gone.

keep us informed...

Did you go to SMALLER injectors? or larger?

It seems to me, with WMO you want to inject ssmaller amounts and more advanced timing.

The tips are 80 hp 105 lbs fpt over stock. So they are bigger.

The only people who consistently have no problems with smoke are the older Ford guys using a two tank system and a heater for the waste oil.

I routed my fuel line close to the engine so I could heat the oil just a little before going to the IP. I noticed much less smoke once the engine gets above 150 degrees.
I'm going to build a fuel heater using engine heat and I'll get an L shaped tank for my 2 tank system.
I believe switching to diesel on start up and shut down helps clean your combustion chamber and stops the smoke and ash build up.

My truck doesn't smoke anymore than usual but I'm only running a 20% mixture of WMO.

I will be installing a water injection system ,boost ,EGT, rail psi gauges allso.
Want to see what changes on all 3 if any when truck starts to smoke.
Then turn on the water and see if it helps with the smoke.

After installing water injection system truck was 1/2 tank diesel with
injection cleaner and smoking some from previous 50 50 mix .Filled
with 50 % diesel 50 % wmo/trans fluid . Tuned on water injection system
with boost act at 6 to 10 psi. Have ran 300 miles no smoke and not
much smell at all exaust very clean. System injecting 5 gal of water every
70 to 100 miles.I will try to ajust to higher boost seting to use less water.
I am useing more water than fuel. But exaust is clear.Does smoke a little
on hard actcelleration like wot.

Have ran 500 miles on 50% diesel 50 % wmo mix.At 200 miles changed
water injection to come in at 10 psi instead of 8 psi after few miles saw
some smoke at takeoff in moderate aceleration but not near as bad as without water .After a longer water injection cycle the water seems to clear
up the smoke. So I moved setting down to 6 to 8 psi to activate water faster.
This does use more water about 5 gal every 80 to 100 miles. My truck
always runs 300 to 320 miles on 1/2 tank with water got 370 miles
on 1/2 tank so saved 2 gal of fuel. I am running a 15 gal water tank in the
bed .Just filled with 1 gal washer fluid -0 and 14 gal of water have only
ijected water before. The idea is to not spend to much on fluid if it does
not improve milage.

Ran another 370 miles on 50 % wmo 50 % diesel mix with water injection and washer fluid milage still at 370 on 1/2 tank. This puts 800 total miles on mix with out running 100 % diesel . Truck smokes lightly on cool mornings and some on actceleration but the amount of smoke is actceptable so far. Before water it would black out the sun on aceleration and haze alot most of the time. So far with water I would say smoke down 90% for me.
