Since you brought it up. What is the problem with the k&n air filter?

The OBS airbox has been known to allow dirt to get past the filter. The K&N for the OBS has this inherent problem. More importantly, the K&N needs to be re-oiled periodically and doing it by hand is no way as precise as the factory did it. Too much oil on the filter is bad as is too little.

:yell: My turbo sucks the oil right off the filter and makes a mess inside my compressor housing. FYI.

95_stroker,

Aluminized, duals are for looks, if you want max flow get an AFE Pro Guard 7 Stage II intakestops the dirt but flows the air. Get the MBRP exhaust it is available in aluminized or stainless and expands to 4 inches at 20 inches from the turbo for max flow rate!
Call us at DPPI for any questions you might thave.

Mark @ DPPI

Hey Mark, The T304 MBRP Excursion Exhaust I purchased from you, appeared to be 4" from the turbo, not 20" and then expanded to 4", did I miss something?

I have a KN filter and it works fine. I have heard alot either way about KN in particular. It is my opinion that is comes down maintenance as with any other aspect of an engine. If properly maintian your filter it does a good job most of the horror stories I have heard about KN are a resuld of lack of maintenance and care.

K&N air filters use oil and some people have had oil analyses done, it shows that some of the reports come back with acidic oil but I do know that it block a lot of air, I really don’t remember that airflows on the filters but I did buy a Napa air filter and a 4 inch 45 pipe and made my own interpretation of the Tymar for about 50.00

I also made my own down pipe and open to 4 inch as soon as I passed the fire wall, no cat and no muffler, stacked it out the back (sounds good and breaths great)
