Ok, this thing has only 10k miles and we are getting hit by storms here and had to use 4X4. When shifting out of 4wd to 2wd sometimes it is hard to get to slip out. Not like a drivetrain bind, but like the lever is not going far enough. It is a very short throw from 4-2, and it is hitting some kind of stop, but I have to try several times to get it in 2wd. I have had several of these trucks over the years and never ran into this.

My concern is that it is not going fully into 2wd and something will be wearing quickly. Its too snowy to crawl under it right now but what I am wondering is there some kind of adjustment on the linkage? I do not feel that I should have to jamb it against the stop to get it to shift.

If you know, you know, and I don't! Thanks, Larry

You should have a huge bolt that the shifter pivots on, and a smaller bolt next to it. Between these two bolts, you have lots of slop and thus adjustment. The smaller bolt along with the large bolt attach what you would call a "gate". This has the stops on it. Sorry though, this is all underneath work.

Thanks, know what to look for now.
I've used a plastic sled to change my oil in the snow before. It works GREAT! I've never slid underneath a truck so easily in my life.
LMAO. We have gotten 10" since 6AM, with totals up to 36" by tomorrow forecast. That is on top of the 10" we got yesterday. Mother Nature is a cruel *****, surprised I didn't marry her.:)

#389240-s100 is the large pivot bolt. #58695-s is the smaller bolt.
