Hi Burners!

Its been a cold and hard 9 months since I last drove the old Boy. I can feel some momentum coming back in the project.

My stubborn butt wont take it to the shop, im too cheap! (thats my story and im stickin to it)
Updates are so far;
Vac Pump installed, new hoses
New Injectors
New zd9 plugs
New Harness for said plugs
New GP Relay for said hardness
New Throttle Cable
New Alternator

To Do;
Wire the manual gp switch in (can i start it with block heater and a can of juice in the meantime?)
Turn up the Injection Pump to accomodate the new injectors

So of course, nothing in this life worth a darn comes easy, I didnt take enuf pictures of my vac hoses!

Does anyone have a sec to shoot me a pic of their routing? I got 2 spots on the splitter that I cant figure

Appreciate anyone's time to read or reply, thanks.

In my Blue Truck, the upper one that's empty on yours goes to a T. One side goes to toward that ball thingy but has been plugged off, and the other side goes into the heater box and (I assume) it's to work the vent controls. The lower one is plugged on mine. The ball thingy has to do with the cruise control. The other labeled "not sure" in your last picture is the low vacuum switch which is supposed to light up the "brake" light on the dash when the vacuum is so low. Mine is still hooked up, but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't work.

On my truck, the lower one you’re asking about goes to climate control, and the upper one goes to the low vacuum warning switch.

My 86 doesn`t have Cruise Control except for my foot, and I have Ball thingy...or did till I ripped it out along with the low vac, thingy.

My low vacuum thingy didn`t work anyway.

The " ball thingy" is just a reserve canister. Similar concept as a tank on an air compressor.

Well I'm not sure about that. I have seen both styles but I don't remember if I ever noticed them both on the same truck.

You got me curious so I did a little research on it. It appears that the plastic ball is a reserve for the HVAC. The juice can is the reserve for cruise control, and on a gasser the egr.

Thanks for reminding me...my truck does not have either.
Mine doesn't either. The cruise never did work and I eliminated them both while I was trying to get rid of all vacuum leaks. While I did get rid of some leaks, most of it was in the old vacuum pump itself.

When I saw the 'can' on a lot of cars and trucks in the 80's I used to utter under my breath..."army-issue pork and beans can..."

Thanks for reminding me...my truck does not have either.
First time I ever saw one, I thought "What is a Tomato Juice can doing under the hood of this car"?

My 86 didn`t have it but my 85 does, but it has Cruise.
