Oh yea all good for me, I was just rolling it backwards so not like I was under it or anything, pretty damn loyal cherry picker I’ve done 6 idis with that on 1/4 ton interesting why it gave on 1/2 ton

Just following in your foot steps Nero now I’ve got 2 dented oil pans

This just confirms that when I pull my 6.9 to clean everything up, I WONT be doing it with a chinesium cherry picker.

Is the motor okay?
Not really the cherry pickers fault, I’ve used it for idis on the 1/4 setting too many times I’m sure that’s what the reason was,
I don’t care about the motor it’s got rod knock or some sort of malice
I was able to shove it so it landed on the oil pan so hopefully I can still salvage stuff

Glad to hear you are ok.
Looks like what I see, it bent the leg where you fold it up for storage.
But when things go wonky and move in directions they were not designed to go, other things get tweeked along the way.

I think it has 6 wheels, right? So should have a wheel under that point.
Iam always concerned about the Ram giving out with the weight hanging on it.

I always wish these things had larger castors so they roll easier with the engine hanging on them.
Trying to move one, and the engine swings, puts stress on the frame.

The center wheel is off the ground a hare when the leg is down. I have the same cherry picker.
Still odd that it failed on the 1/2 ton point. Wonder if it had rust internally and failed?

You should cut it open, for science!

So I drove 26 miles to go visit the in laws. Replaced the mirrors on their idi with tow mirrors. The stock ones, the housings were so worn they flexed and bounced just going down the road.

I also picked up a little gift from them.

Can't wait for the pump from Moose to show up, and the injectors from Russ to arrive. Looking forward to changing those parts out.

You can grind the magnet pickup while waiting

That dang magnet pickup....

I ordered a light haha I tried for a good hour to get a reading, followed the directions to the T, read the forums a little. Turns out the mag pickup just is awful.

I like the mag pickup. Did you watch my video? I also added a pinned comment not too long ago about needing to change the pulse if you have newer style coated ip lines.

Started the day off playing with the engine for my car, got the oil system primed and the timing all lined up. Then I unhooked the trailer and pulled the truck over to the garage so I could unload that behemoth of a welder. I swear it weighs 200lbs. The set screws for the leads opened right up when I wanted to remove the leads which was impressive for 70+ year old flathead screws.

I need to change the oil in Tank but I wanted to get my Ham radio installed before my trip next weekend. Fished the grommet out of the HVAC box and got a fish wire through it. Then I spent probably 30min trying to find my spool of wire......

Got it fished through and sleeved/terminated/wrapped and remembered I never put a fuse on it ...........

Cut it back open and fixed THAT.

Pulled some more trim down inside to run wires and was reminded that while Texas is nice to metal, it's not very nice to plastic. Ugh.

Pulled the CB out and put the mounting bracket for the radio in. CB bracket was quite a bit too wide.

I didn't have the fancy T connector for the radio (came with one but that's in Diego), but a couple of insulated spade connectors will work just fine. Nobody is going to see them anyway.

Got everything hooked up and popped the mag mount antenna on (still don't have the chops to drill for an NMO mount yet).

Found a magnetic mic holder in a box of CB stuff I was given. That should work nicely there.

Definitely not as productive as I wanted to be, but got a few things done so it's something.

I'm not messing with it today, but I was looking at the battery cable I ordered and wanted to post a picture of it next to the premade cables that were on the truck before.

Looks like a much better cable to me, but I'm no electronics engineer. Significantly higher strand count and thicker insulation as well. Plus it's stamped "Made in USA" too!
