Well friendos, time for a new mod I want to do.

I saw on Russ's truck that he has a vacuum actuated heater core shutoff installed. Has anyone ran one? Which one to run? My goal is to have it controlled by the same vac source as when I turn on the "Max AC" which also would close the recirculation door.

It's either that, or run a manual ball valve. But for the desire of not having to pop my hood every time... I'd rather just run a vacuum one.

I have done that on my truck... definitely helps the a/c work better. I'll have to sort through the pile of parts invoices to see which valve I bought.

I just installed mine the other day when I did my coolant filter. Very easy install. Napa #6601294 for the valve

I was short of finding that part number, I'll get one of those ordered, thank you!

So the question I have for @Thomas87, the Napa #6601294 one, does it turn off the heater core, but allow coolant to flow to the valve then loop back around? Or does it dead head the coolant flow?
The one that @DrCharles listed would work, but dead heads the coolant flow, which also stops flow to the coolant filter I just installed.

The correct valve is for a Ford ranger. You will have to look a little bit to see what year. If I remember it's a 1990's model.

Correct, the valve I mentioned is what came factory on the early rangers and a few other various Ford vehicles at the time.

Wow that was noticeable, how do you effectively tap into the max ac circuit

Cut the little hard line going to the door actuator, slip some vacuum hose over each end and put a tee in. If you zoom in on the picture I posted you can see how it's tee'd into
