If I remember correctly I think the zf5 requires a shorter front and longer rear than the e4od.

I don't think that's accurate, my crew cab was originally a E4od and when I zf swapped it, i used the original shaft.

Only major difference I know of is 250s use a single u joint end, and 350s use a double cardon joint.

The Cardone 659667 (e4OD) and 659721 (ZF5) differ by about 6" according to rockauto.

Their listing also suggests the C6 and ZF5 use the same front shaft.

Cuz it bolts on, doesn't mean that it fits.

Unless both tyrannies measure the same length.....
No

Full stuff you want 1" of collapse left.
At full droop you want AT LEAST 2" of engagement.

I was thinking the zf5 was significantly shorter. My e4od to zf swap was in a 94 460 truck but the general setup is the same. Zf6 and 4r100 are the same length, pretty sure the overall length of 4r100 and e4od are the same

Can't be right all the time.

Now I wonder where the heck that driveline came from in my truck... It was sitting on the floor when I bought the stripped chassis.
