Happy Memorial Day Everyone!
Well after having my 6.0 stolen about a month ago I bought another IDI yesterday. I needed something and after searching found this 1993 F-250 abut 3-1/2 hours away. Definitely a truck someone loved and put a lot into at some point (R&D Diesel goodies), but has been lacking for maintenance and love for a while. Fuel return system (caps and orings) were spewing diesel the whole way home and the lack of an exhaust system required earplugs for the drive home. Regardless we made it without drama and I picked up an injector install kit last night to take care of the priority #1, the fuel leaks. I will probably get a big truck Walker muffler and some fittings to get an exhaust system pieced together. I still have a section of pipe left over from Lil that should help. The boost and EGT gauges aren't working so I need to figure that out and get a temperature gauge as the factory one doesn't even show the typical inaccurate swing. The shifter for the transfer case was left off by a previous owner, something about they 'forgot' to put it back on after having it out for some reason. Here's to hoping the transfer case is actually functional. Well, I have my work cut out for me, so here we go again!

Yesterday I got the fuel leaks that were sprouted out the of the caps and return lines straightened out. Also interpreted the VIN and she is a 92.

Well the exhaust is on, oil is changed and much cleaning, mostly interior is done. Removed the tool box and lumber rack for now. Took a trip to the landfill with a bunch of yard waste.

Since I will be using this thread as the ongoing rehabilitation of Benny I edited the title to be a bit more sensible. Also I am adding in the pictures for the exhaust I put together. When I got the truck it had nothing except the turbo down pipe.

Here are a few interior pictures. The drivers seat is torn on the door side and the dash pad has a small crack. A bunch of plastic pieces are loose and missing screws, but it cleaned up fairly well.

Here is a peek under the hood. I am not crazy about the bright green, will change that at some point. Manifolds are cool! The y-pipe routing doesn’t go under the engine like my old Banks kit, it goes behind. I am guessing for quicker spooling due to a shorter route.

Interesting someone spent ~4K on a turbo kit and quality parts and then let it get neglected

Yes, I thought so too. I bet one guy invested all the money then sold it and the next guy then had no appreciation for it. The guy I got it from acquired it in a trade for a bull, but hadn't had it for more than a couple months.

Well maybe, but the shipping from Kansas would be a deal breaker these days. Surely someone much closer to you has one?

Oh snap front driveline missing! Bet it was taken off for "weight reduction" and "fuel economy"
