The green Fenders and yellow Rims are a dead give away....JD.

I have a 84JD 950, and the neighbor down the road just gave me his Kioti CK30, have 635 hrs.
It`s at the dealer having them fix a few things...can`t beat free.

Yeah umm I am colorblind. Red/green deficiency. True story. My bad.

Congrats on the free tractor.

Well, for a time those MF machines were proud to be together.
Just look at the stance of those iron and steel babies...

I'da been proud to run any of 'em. I saw a MF399 near you recently and I was eyeballing it mighty hard.

Captain 720...can you enlighten me about those clutch and brake pedals on the JD that you find more suitable..? Just curious. I never worked on or ran many JD's. The goofball that inserted himself between me and the parts I needed to fix 'em never seemed to get things right.
The JD clutch goes forward and the MF clutch presses down, the MF clutch requires 487 tons of pressure and the JD requires less than most cars. The master slave steering on the MF wanders and responds weird, however the MFs with the Perkins have some of the most durable motors ever made and I repair lots of them because the last forever.

The massy clutch is miserable! I had a 1970s 175 and your knee would start twitching if you held it for any length of time, but it did have the Perkins which was amazing. I got a international 674 now, gas tractor, easier to operate than the Massey but I do miss the diesel. The problem with internationals is they're hidiously ugly. JD is way more stylish especially the late 60s early 70s (1020,1520, 4020, etc) but boy do you pay for them! I'm still climbing that ladder.

Yes the old MF's have the vertical clutch. The 390 clutch is hung from overhead and has a normal forward movement. It's not too heavy. Been a decade since I could drive it so can't remember exactly how heavy. It is 80 hp so going to have some resistance.

Finally broke down and bought a tool I've had my eyes on for a few years. It does brake lines but it also does GM transmission cooler flares and push connect fittings for fuel lines!

Grade 304 Stainless Steel tube 3/8 Diameter. Effortless flare. This will be the fuel lines for Tank.

Finally did something I've been wanting to do since I've owned the truck. Replaced those tiny factory mirrors with some that really belong on the truck. Really happy with how they turned out. I also hid the now vacant original lower mounting holes with a side marker light.
And since y'all are talking tractors, you can see the reflection of my JD Model B in the door

I have a very similar setup on my truck. Hands down, best for towing.

Only difference I have is I got large stick on convex mirrors, so they are adjusted the same time the flat glass is.

I've replaced the connector housing twice. It's on my to do list to do the relay mod.

I no longer have the 135. During my divorce the ex sold it and my MF 235 based forklift.

I still have the MF 390 in this picture. Just got the rebuilt engine back on the transmission last Saturday.

Canada's May Long was last weekend. I think that annoying lifter tick is finally dead. All new pushrods and 7.3 style rockers. Bore scoped the tops of each lifter as well to make sure the retainer didn't come loose like it did for another member recently.

And then of course, there's the obligatory "test drive" up to 4000ft. I had to make sure the new rockers worked, right?

Pulled my truck into the driveway to start doing the swaps. Drained the green coolant out, Fleetguard red gonna go in when it's all said and done.
I also noticed that the radiator hoses... They are original from the factory.

Replaced the ready-to-grenade Chinese turbo with a CDD (upgraded wheel). But I didn't line up the slip joint and it's leaking noisily and with 0-1 psi boost :(
More entertainingly, when I first fired it up, I didn't notice that the turbo oil feed gasket had fallen out of place. When the oil pressure gauge (connected there) didn't rise on startup, I shut it down. Already a quart or two on the engine and driveway! And it's still dripping just sitting there...
