welp, i had a bit of a brake issue.
i couldnt drive it for more than 10 miles, then the brakes would lock up.
fought with that for a couple days, and then found that the hydro to master rod was .080" too long,
it would apply the brakes when things warmed up.

now, its doing the same sheet my sons truck did, with vibration.
i have a 4407 in stock, but i need to get a new rear CV driveshaft built.

headlights stopped working lastnight, but i think i fixed that with a 30A fuse instead of the 15A that was in there lol
my DB150 is headed back to the shop for warranty work.
got my spare idit pump currently on it

lots of vibration!
luckily im just smart enough to fail and learn from it!

i timed the engine finally, and i was at 3*
bumped it up to 6.5* and she runs alot smother.
no cold advanced or high idle connected at this time.

this helped out a bit.

then i noticed that one of my rear leafs was bent/cracked...

i replaced them the other say with super duty springs and relocated my rear shackle hanger, as it was folded over pretty good.
now its facing the rear at a 20ish deg angle.

then i had a epiphany.
i built the beadlocks im runnin...
and i didnt balance the 37's
lol
put my spare set of rims on with 35's and most of the vibration went away..
who wouda thunk!

i still have a driveshaft issue, where the trans is pretty loud on decell.
same issue with the 61 F100 build.
so, i have a 4407 and a SD front driveshaft to modify for the rear.
that will be next week.

today i had to fix my boost sensor, looks like i shorted out the gauge
soon, i will be painting this and get my buddys over here to help me exo cage it!

then time for some wheelin...
i know, im laggin. but for a good reason!

No the collapsing the shaft, could the front yolk be bent?
Doubt that would be noticeable on the street.
Now what about the rear drive comming up the granite bowl towing out?:dunno

never be that guy lol

i havnt done the front shaft yet. no shaft installed, but one in stock.
i still have that on the list.
gotta get the rear shaft done first. then its on to the front.

i finally have turn signals!!
had to fix the pyro and the oil pressure gauge today, sensor was bad.
boost gauge still not working, i think i gotta fix the wires.

also installed shifter boots. so no more smell in the cab, which is awesome.

the tow out was 2 bent tie rods, had that fixed the next day.
i still want to make a brace to support the 4407. but that can be done later.
im almost ready to throw the final color on. but got a long week ahead of me.

i got the 4407 swapped in today,
built a shaft for it, and while not balanced, it solved most of my issues.
i have a bran new SD front shaft ready to go into the shop tomorrow to have it shortened and balanced.
still need to address the front shaft, as it does fit, every time i stuff the front end i break a front shaft.
maybe im a little heavy on the go pedal lol.
prolly just cut an inch off the front slip shaft

I think I see your front driveshaft balance problem. The angle of the output u-joint (from vertical) and your front-end u-joint should be about the same. If not you will get some "unbalance". Shim the front end so that the input shaft is almost level or at the same angle as the output shaft of the transfer case.

Those are both rear shafts ... post 458.
Also remember that shimming the front pinion angle alters the caster ect.
Now a cut/ rotate works.
U joint angles are critical.
A cv shaft is a lot of help quelling vibration .
A cv in the rear lets you point the pinnion at the rear output.
You have to work the college math on front axle alignment.
The scrub, caster,Ackerman, caster, all depend upon each other.
The pinnion angle only depends upon adequate lubrication .
Point a level pinnion at 30 degrees, and you fill the differential at 30 deg to keep the levels good.
Think of the rear rotated up 30 deg. Now the yolk bearing is dry.

the front shaft is what it is.
its not my vibration tho, as my vibration is at the top 3rd gear in 2H
front shaft wasnt even engaged.
maybe tis is why i keep breaking that front shaft when i hit it hard tho......

both front shafts lol
the rear is a super duty front shaft, and the front is a obs front shaft lol
both are CV

it did solve my angry transmission noises...

I saw backing plates for rear solid axles...
F u kkme I'll get on the puter in the am...
So I can see...
We got full stuff in the frontend figured out...
But
Pull the front out.
Drive for effect.
Check phase of the rear.
Got another truck on that wheelbase to swap around with?
Vibrations @Top of 3rd ... does it chatter on decell or just on fuel, or both?
Hmmm
I'm fixing to hit the delta for some fishing soon, I'll give you a call...
