My 86 is an XL, so maybe it does have them. Been under the dash many times over the years, and haven`t noticed them.
Be out working on it tomorrow and look a little closer.

Driver side of the 83 had been removed for some kind of a plate they rigged to the bottom of the dash.

I looked around as good as I could in the old 89 I wrecked and I couldn't find any. I actually just checked another one that I forgot I even had, its a 91 canadian truck. I am guessing the brick nose didn't have it as an option.
I just went and checked both of my aero nose and they don't have it either. But they do have the door panel lights.

First bath since 2017. Stock suspension & wheel and tires back to factory sizes. Front end rebuilt. Feels good to drive now.
Going to keep chipping away at the little things this week. Maybe take it to Vermont on Friday and meet up with @Scotty4 . That would be a 16 hour round trip.

Well today's been a journey. Started off with a Craigslist ad for an engine I wanted parts off of, turns out it was @Noiseydiesel so got to meet him, then went over and paid Russ a visit for the rest of the parts for my truck.
I now have all the parts to do a serpentine belt setup swap, aluminum radiator, and someday an intercooler.

Was out crawling around the truck, and see no where the lights would have been mounted or any wiring connectors or empty Light Sockets.... etc...

They ground to the dash so take it out and clean the mating surface mine was like that for a while

So, I got up early so I could go hook to this bohemoth and move it across town! "They" say our trucks ain't that tough but if "they" coulda seen the raw torque and power on charts and graphs that my NA 6.9 was generating through a German engineered ZF5 and being transferred to the ground just to move this MONSTER (that's right Miata is Hebrew for "something like bigfoot")"they" woulda been in tears(like I'm sure you are now, or at least after you look at the picture). ROCK ON!!!
