The taller and longer Cummins (8.3, ISC, L10, ISL) are in a similar physical size domain to the DT466. It's beyond what I'm going to put in a pickup. Or, consider the F650/750 platform where it might fit (or have been available).

For more cubes in a pickup, I'd rather try to build a mechanical 6BT using the newer 6.7L shortblock.

Would be interesting to see, but I'd just run an industrial 6.7 with front gear train, and delete it. But that cost some $$$ I don't have

I've owned both. The performance of the last generation 7.3 Powerstrokes are undeniable: they make really nice power. In all fairness: that's a turbocharged and intercooled 7.3. I think a larger than stock IDI injector pump, a good set of injectors, and a better than stock turbo gets you pretty close to a stock SuperDuty PSD.
Don't need larger pump, stock turbo cal ip, intercooler, 3" dp
226/501 same as a stock zf6 superduty
And I have the dyno sheets to back it up

Your truck looks like it's very clean, it's really well optioned as a crew cab F350, and no matter what you do I think it's going to hold it's value. If I was in your shoes, I'd put an upgraded fuel system (injector pump and injectors) and an intercooler in your truck, and get a new set of mirrors. I thought somebody on here put a super nice set of tow mirrors from a Chevrolet onto an OBS and they looked very functional.
Chevy mirrors on a obs definitely add good visibility
And electric fuel pump, intercooler, turbo, 3" dp, and a healthy pump and injectors she will wake right up and make the same useable reliable power as a powerstroke.

If I was okay with an electronic diesel, I'd be okay with the powerstroke they come with.
I had a landscaper approach me about a trade for my late 2002 24v. NV56 4x, Exhaust Brake, flatbed dump bed combo.

My neighbor has ‘96 12v NV45 4x4 owned since new. I have first rights to buy it. (No kids) all stock

I’m torn cause I could use the trade, but the 24v has the non CAD front axle, rear discs, and I love the flat bed. Plus beefier steering.

Maybe a p-pump conversation when/if the VP dies. It has a big line kit and lift pump.

I think I'd stick with your 2002 even if it meant an eventual P-pump, or whole 12valve swap. If it's a factory C&C frame you have the pickup beat.

Not a C&C, rancher I bought it from just had it to roll bails off. But I’m leaning to keep it as well. Thanks for the insight
