The clutch pedal rubber has minimal wear. The bed has some scratches but no dents really. The paint is kinda faded but body looks good. I just thought if it rolled over the odometer alignment would be off Slightly but I just can't imagine having that low of mileage. The seat has a cover that is kinda ripped but the seat feels new and the truck rides 100xs better than my 83 with lots of miles

The Brake and Clutch peddle do have a lot of wear on them if you look close.
The seat cover has a lot of butt time or is just krappy material from a lot of getting in and out.
It`s a Bull Nose also, so from the age, I would guess at least 150K miles.
Looking at the needles and the wood trim not being faded, looks like it has been garaged, and or does not live in the hot desert regions of the country.

Second look, the Temp/Oil/Fuel and Amp needles do look faded.
Could the Spedo have been replaced and the Tach have been a NOS/OEM one the prior owner located and installed?

Did you buy the truck from the original owner?

I did I got it from a lady in her 60s ot was her husband that bought it new in 86 he died in 96 from cancer he got from his place of implyement and when that happened it never drove again till she sold it to her caretakers boyfriend and he had it for a year and never paid so I repoed it and paid her for it under the Impression it needed batteries. Come to find out they ran it out of oil and bent 5 rods chipped the block bent pushrods and every main and rod bearing where shot so bad only reminisce of bearings where in the pan. So I put I newly rebuild 6.9 in it and she drives like a dream. She never said anything about changing any of the gauges she did say it always went to the dealer for maintenance and I have a lot of the papers but not all of them.

I will say I used the original heads because they looked brand new. I was disappointed about the block because it still had the hash marks from the hone

My opinion is that it has rolled over once, so 121,***. The condition of the seat and pedals is less than my 174,000 mile Excursion. There is also not a lot of wear on the steering wheel where the "spokes" meet the wheel. Every vehicle I have driven with that wheel had a little "dent" in the corners of the top of the spoke where you would put your finger and spin the wheel when maneuvering in tight quarters. Also, one thing I have noticed is, once they roll over, the number do not line up quite right. Not sure if that is coincidence or by design, but if you look at the bottom of the opening for the odometer, the tops of the next set of numbers is not straight across, there is a slight misalignment. On a pre-rollover odometer, they would line up... Nice looking truck.... my favorite body style. Nice optioned truck with factory air and a tach.....

Too bad she didn`t let it sit in the garage all that time, and then sold it to you.
First time I have heard of an engine being destroyed that bad.
Just noticed the spedo is 21K, where did I get 50?

There is a story with in the story of what really happened.
End result, looks like you have a good truck.

Not that difficult to check the oil once in a while. I open my Hood just about every day to check oil and do a quick look around at stuff.

Well ya made me go out and look at the odometer. Rolled over 337000K miles today. Shows 37040.0 right now. the 40.0 are only half way up. Yeah I know the zero (tenth) hasn`t come all the way up to trigger the next one to bring up the #1.
Probably take a few miles for things to settle down.

Snickles, you have good taste, Bull Noses rule. :sly

I agree I never met the yahoo but sounds pretty ignorant. I don't know if he ran it out of oil and got water in the intake or what. Maybe he over reved it with no oil it's a mistory for me as well but I'm glad it's mine now ha ha he was making us look bad driving our trucks undeserving
