What size is the o-ring on the injection pump return valve?

Hey y'all,
I see tons of o-rings for the injectors, but none for the injection pump itself. The little valve on top of the pump that goes to the return line seems to be leaking. When I pulled it to add some Teflon tape, it turns out it's got an o-ring on it. What size is this o-ring? I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere. Thanks!

Even though you're probably not going to now, you never want to put teflon tape or thread sealer of any kind on any part of the fuel system. That's asking for a big bill for new parts.

Im also assuming you never use a thread sealer or tape with an o-ring. I would assume thats the point of the o-ring.
Also, what material o-ring is best for fuel and is the 905 size applicable to the other o-rings for the fuel system?

I'd probably go with the brown viton ones:

Do you recall if they are metric or standard?
I just did a Google search and have found the 905 shown with metric and standard measurements. I would say it doesn't really matter how it is measured as long as the size is correct.

I think its technically standard, ie US.

Does anyone know the size for the O-Ring on the Drive Gear End of the Injection Pump?

Ive been looking for 8 hours in ford cataloques, factory service manuals, etc, as it states to always install a new one.
The only two part numbers for ip orings is
- E3TZ-9N693-A : it calls this one, "RING (INJECTION PUMP TO FITTING - SEALING)" It does not give the size for this one.

- E3TZ-9N693-B : (This sounds correct, but its way too small.) It calls this a "SEAL (FUEL INJECTION PUMP HEAD FITTING)" but also calls it an "O" Ring with the below size.
  • 21/64" O.D. x 11/64" I.D. x 5/64" thick , Diesel
Thank you.

I don't know the size, but I know that you can get ORB (o-ring boss) kits online or maybe your local parts store could order one if you like. I wrench on my work trucks with hydraulic stuff and only just recently learned about the whole ORB deal. Turns out it's totally standard and a kit should fit whatever you need. Many kits have different ranges of sizes so just make sure the smallest size is a little smaller than you need and the rest will fit. My amazon kit I got has saved our bacon a whole bunch of times already.
They should also be viton already, as that's the standard for hydraulic fittings. But don't forget to double-check.

Josh what Amazon kit did you get? For just average everyday stuff I've tried couple Harbor Freight O-Ring kits in the past but really they don't cut it for fuel or oil. I like kits from itty-bitty to maybe 2" O-Rings just to have in the shop.

Interesting. In the past I’ve used graphite past but was very care with how I applied.

Do all the fitting you use have to be NPTF / dry seal threads?
