Hey all, I installed a boost gauge and I'm not getting any reading. There are no exhaust leaks, and the snail is tight. It's a glowshift gauge with the hard plastic line .I have it plumbed into the snail, and used teflon tape. Still not getting any reading. Turbo spools up nice, and like I said I feel no leaks anywhere. Am I supposed to plumb this somewhere else? Thanks

I had the same problem with the glowshift gauge. If you just tighten the fitting, it actually rotates the guts of the gauge and makes it get stuck reading zero.
use a small wrench to rotate the inner part like you're loosening it. Watch the needle while you do it, eventually it'll move off the peg. Then rotate to tighten until the needle just touches the peg.

Took me adjusting it about 3 times to get it just right.

Thanks. I was just going thru old threads and seen where you mentioned that. I'm going out now to give it a shot.

So I went outside and ran the truck with the boost line in some water. I bubbles up so I'm getting boost. I don't see how turning the inlet will get the gauge to move. Inlet is on the bottom of the gauge so I don't think I mcan rotate it. My stupid iphone won't send me the pic I took to show what I mean. Once I get it I'll post it

the inlet is pretty tight. I loosened up the jam nut thats against the housing and it barely moves.

Mine barely moved as well. I think I had backed it out about 1/8th of a turn before the needle moved. It was pretty firm in there.

I actually did it while the truck was running and it didn't move. I'll try again tomorrow. But at least I'm getting boost.

Before my gloshift wet the bed, and got replaced by a better quality ?autometer? I had this issue out of the box.
Always back up fittings when tightening them up.

Good luck. Hopefully you can get it working. Glowshift is a name I recognize, not like a no-name parts store cheapie.

Maybe take the fittings loose from the boost line and pull them back and see what the ends look like on your line

How are you checking boost? Just revving up the motor or driving under load. Most turbos really do not provide much boost under no load conditions.
