The red Cornbinder PU in this picture, reminds of the 64 I had when I got out of the Navy in 66.
Wish I still had it.

What are you doing with all you winch out? You a scrapper?

Yeah that binder was the first truck I purchased when i was probably 17, love that thing, was towing it because the fuel line plugged up while driving

I have done some scrapping but i tow for a lot of friends as well who collect cars and trucks

I was 22 back then, trying to "find my self" as the saying went back then, after 4 years of the Navy.

Don`t see many left of that body style, mostly the next square body style they made... never did like them.

I was looking at the new 67 or 68`s, wanted a 3/4 ton, 5-spd, 304 V8, Step Side, AM Radio, and think they were $2700. Damn that was a lot of money back then. Radio`s were an option back then.
Kept on driving the 64.

Thanks, I'd prefer an extended cab but I didn't buy it new and you take whatever you can find. I keep my eyes peeled for a big hogging bumper like you got.
Yeah the Extended cab is handy, when i go on an overnight run i throw a little air mattress in there and have place to sleep, albeit a cramped one. I gotta finish that bumper off, needs the uprights around the headlights yet

That's true. My dad used to have a 1963. All I can remember is that it was 4X2 and I'm fairly sure that it was a half ton. I had a hard time driving it when the engine was cold because I had no idea how to work a manual choke. Naturally my dad didn't bother to teach me.

That's for darn sure. I slept in the backseat of my extended cab the weekend before last. I had brought along an extra sleeping bag for padding to lay on, but I was so tired that I didn't want to bother trying to unroll it. After 4 hours both of my hips were so sore that I could barely walk after I climbed out of the truck, but it was worth it just to be able to lay down to sleep. Next time, I'll know to lay the pad out before I leave the house so it will be ready when I'm tired.
