Well, today I took my coil buckets and the radius arm brackets off so I could sorta mod them. They’re the stock ones of a superduty. I basically cut them all up so I could use the factory bump stops.

I also had an interview yesterday at a peterbilt dealership to see about an apprenticeship. I think it went well, they want me to come back Thursday and talk to their lead technician.

Laine, I wrote this before you edited but will leave it haha

Interviewer - “Sir, one of the applicants today was ranting about v-configuration diesels and pre cups
Lead tech - “does he know this is Peterbilt and we work on heavy duty trucks?”
Interviewer - yes he said he used fleetcharge once and their was a tractor trailer on the sticker
Lead tech - “ by gosh most experienced applicant all day, let me speak with him”

Chances are the peterbilts will have a L9, X15, DD13, or some Paccar pos in it. Hope you get it!

They asked me if I’ve ever been around drum brakes and I kinda gave them a chuckle. So that’s what started it all. They said they get a lot of guys who come in looking for a job who talk themselves up but then can’t even find a drain plug. I’m quite the opposite and I guess when it comes to interviews I’m a little too reserved, I think that’s what they asked me to come back again LOL

Yup, they actually still get quite a few cats at that dealer which is weird considering we’re in California. My buddy works at Volvo and they’re mainly detroits. I think I’d end up working on all of them though. I really hope it works out because I’d love to grow my knowledge. I don’t want to be a mechanic forever but I know it can open a lot of doors.

I'd tell you what you get when you cross a Peterbuilt, a Kenworth, and a Freightshaker, but I'd end up with a vacation.

Howdy guys. Pulled everything off the frame and re-fabricated/designed some stuff. I stripped the cab floor and painted it. Doing the same thing to the bed. Also have most of the interior put together. Have the gooseneck holes drilled and the brackets for it are all built

Not diesel related but I like my ranger just as much. I found a nice door, my old on was all messed up. It had a big dent in it. Picked up this camper shell Thursday for a hundred bucks. And today a built a little rack for it, probably will finish it tomorrow. She clicked over 296k this week and still runs like a charm. I’ve done quite a bit of work to it since I bought it and it’s an awesome daily.

I got my 100$ gooseneck hitch all painted and mounted.

My parents bought a new truck and have been waiting to get their hitch Installed so I tried to make fun of them. I forgot that I learned my sarcasm from the best…. Lol

Also. Y’all might think this is funny. I had 2 interviews at Peterbilt for an apprenticeship, not sure if I want to be a mechanic long term but I’d be dumb not to try it out. Anyways. It’s been 2 months now. I called 3 times and they never got back to me. So, my good friend works at the Volvo/Mack dealer down the street and told his foreman I was looking to get into it. Well one thing leads to another, I got the job as a tech, instead of an apprentice. And the pay is substantially higher than I was gonna be offered at Peterbilt along with much better hours and a way better training program.

Now I don’t mind at all that they didn’t want me. But they told me multiple times throughout the process that they wanted me and I should start looking for tools and notifying my current employer (which I didn’t do because they didn’t have anything for me in writing so I could see the signs already LOL). They could’ve had the respect to let me know they didn’t want to go forwards with it right? Maybe that’s just me being dumb.
